We attended the Mothers Day High Tea today hosted by Halo Bistro & Bar at the Renaissance Hotel and I cannot believe how wonderful it was. We have done a few high teas in the past and this one by far was the best! From the brunch/high tea, the amazing servers (JOSH and GERI), Jeff Hendrix for live entertainment, the beautiful setting and venue, photographers, the price!!!! The best mothers day experience ever. We cannot wait to come back next year and the years to come. 10000000/10! We'll, be back for fathers day too 😉. Thank you to everyone who put in the hard work to provide us with such great experience! Forgot to mention the parking ticket they provided us with.

This is a great place to grab a quick bite, listen to some live music (when they have it), have a relaxing dinner, or whatever. The place offers a number of great spaces to social interaction or quiet conversations. The food and service are always great.

It was a birthday dinner for my nephew. My family was also staying overnight because of an early flight. (so convenient to stay here). Josh was our server and he was a delight, also very knowledgeable with the menu. One member of our family is celiac and he spent time to go over items with her and answer questions. She is nervous about going out to eat, but he put her at ease and she loved her meal. Our cocktails were delicious and everyone raved about their meals. We had a good variety, too - salmon, steak, butter chicken, a Reuben, sandwich of the week, burger, truffle fries, hummus and the best olives I've ever had. The dessert was a decadent chocolate cake, and the staff made the birthday boy's night with their singing. I recommend HALO to everyone, not just guests at the hotel.

And Vince at front desk of hotel should be a leader in the bunch guys absolutely a treat to see always willing to help and always smiling and very well dressed .. Top to bottom staff at restaurant and hotel have made last two years being here feel like home thanks so much

Staff was friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to answer our questions. The menu has a bit of everything to keep all happy. HALO delivers with presentation and flavour once the food arrives. I cannot say enough amazing things about the butter chicken poutine. I did find the music and lights to be a little excessive. If you are sensitive to lights and noise, this may be a place to avoid. Be aware there is seating behind the bar which shelters a little from the lights and noise.

Booked for a valentine's dinner. Waited 20 mins sitting for someone for even a water. Wasn't that busy. Menu looked good. No idea if it tasted good.

Chora was an amazing server. Fast, attentive and everything came out of the kitchen perfectly as ordered. It was our first visit but we'll definitely return with friends and family.

We stayed at the Hotel the night before our Mexican Vacation, and decided to dine at the Halo Bar and Bistro. The food, service, the whole thing was absolutely fantastic!!! Can't say anything bad at all, 100% will go again!!!

Aside from waiting a little long for service initially (I was tucked into a booth and I just don’t think anyone saw me lol!), the service was fantastic. There were a couple of mistakes with my order that our waitress was so quick to amend without any fuss… she was excellent. The calamari was beautifully cooked and well-balanced with chopped onion and cucumber, and chicken ciabatta was divine. A bit too much dressing on the sandwich and salad, but the grilled chicken was fabulous. Thank you! :)

I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. I visited with my Mom on Christmas Day and was blown away by the food presentation and taste, the various atmospheric settings available for seating (the lounge, the 'library,' etc. all had different aesthetics), and the attentiveness of the staff.

Our server, Ruheen, was knowledgeable, professional, welcoming, and accommodating - for us, she elevated an already great experience.

I highly recommend making time for a meal here if you're flying, and if you're not, it's worth the drive (we came from SW Edmonton) and the walk through the airport/hotel to have a meal and drink.

Unfortunately no choice to give a poor review. We were greeted and seated, brought water to our table. Then sat for 15 minutes no service no acknowledgment nothing! You got managers walking by looking at us. We travel here all the time! Look forward to your wings. Very disappointing when you’re exhausted from travel and get this treatment. We were left with no choice but to get up and walk out. The staff clearly didn’t seem to care that they were losing business. But after that service and then to feel obligated to tip sorry not happening. Went down to Brewhouse a fraction of the staff working and exceptional service. I hate to leave this review and hopefully next time we are in town it will be back your usual great service. Everyone has an off night. I recommend the Managers pay more attention to what’s going on.
