Most delicious Hummus and falafel in Edmonton

Malcolm Azania

I had an excellent meal at Abu Nawras restaurant on 97th Street + 129th Street. I'm not sure if it's Lebanese, Syrian, or something else, but everything was delicious, especially the kippe (spelled a different way on this menu)--a type of crispy meatball (crisp on the outside because it's made partly with bulgar). I would happily go back.

The best Falafel in Edmonton in my opinion, anyone who argues that never actually tried the real Falafel. The prices are a little bit on the higher end but it is good

Real Arab breakfast. Most genuine Arab food in Edmonton. Can’t go wrong with the falafel, Fatteh, and hummus!

I have been here a couple times. The food is ok at best and no presentation. I wanted to order chicken kabsa but was told they only had chicken shwarma to go on the rice and tried to tell me it was good.Im not Middle Eastern but I'm not an idiot and they thought I didn't know that I am more than familiar with this dish as having learned to make it myself from my ex mother in law while in Jordan.I was like no shwarma is not the same ,not at all!! And then I opted to have the chicken Mandi which he literally offered me the shwarma again and then I had no choice but to settle for lamb which I don't really like. The food was really expensive for 2 people which came with no sides over 70.00. Last time I am going there. Seems to me when they can't let you order what's on the menu(because they don't have it) then they are not doing well and I did not feel welcome at all despite my son being Middle Eastern who was with me. Not friendly and service was bad and food was not worth the money. Both times I have been there the place was empty now I know why.
