Artistic Bake Shop is one of the oldest and most loved bakeries in south Edmonton, located right on Calgary Trail in the heart of the Strathcona area. This bakery is especially well known for its European and German style baking, and the quality has remained consistently excellent for many years.

Their pretzels are absolutely amazing and truly a must try. Fresh, soft on the inside, perfectly baked on the outside, they are some of the best pretzels you will find in Edmonton. Along with pretzels, they offer a wide variety of European breads, pastries, and specialty baked goods, all made with care and authentic flavor.

The location is another big advantage. Being so close to Whyte Avenue in Strathcona and easily accessible from southwest Edmonton, this bakery is very convenient to visit whether you live nearby or are just passing through. Parking is easy, and it is a great stop for fresh bread, treats, and coffee.

Artistic Bake Shop is a true local gem in south Edmonton and Strathcona, offering authentic European baking, amazing pretzels, and a long standing tradition of quality that keeps people coming back.

Like the sting cake, it's the weekend special, the cheese cream layer is textured well and tastes great! Pretzel is also nice!

I bought a cake there and it was dry. The icing was good though.

Hidden gem along Calgary trail, a block fŕom Scona high school. Great variety of artisan breads, buns, pretzels, pasteries and cakes. Pricey, but you won't be disappointed.

Hands-down the best German rye bread bakery in Edmonton!Every time I get a bread order, there is weight to the bag and aroma. I quickly know I am not buying tasteless Wonderbread, and I'm about to experience truly amazing flavor, particularly the rye and the sourdough. I get a bit annoyed because they don't have any prices in their pastry section, however, everything I have tried from there has been excellent. I can highly recommend the quark cheesecake (not too sweet) and the ginger bread people. Pretzels are also a chewy and delicious treat, and we particularly like the Black Forest Rye, the Sovital, the Bavarian Rye and the Shinken Brot breads. Also note that their butter-creme is not cloyingly sweet like you'd find in other bakeries. Limited parking in front. Not sure if there is a lot or additional parking nearby. Highly worth a trip there and you won't be disappointed.

My son is really getting into baking. He want to visit every bakery in the city and surrounding towns. This is a German bakery. The cream horns were very delicious, the Cheesecake was very creamy, the brownie cake with mocha icing was really yummy. Oh yes and the flower shaped cookies with sprinkles on the edges were a very nice shortbread.
