I’m writing this review not out of anger, but genuine disappointment. I took my child to Bar Burrito for a quick meal and ordered a simple set of tacos—no vegetables, no extras, just a small scoop of guacamole. That’s it.
Despite the simplicity of the order, we were charged extra for the guacamole. I understand that guac is considered a premium item, but when it’s the only topping added, and especially when it’s for a child’s meal, it feels unnecessarily rigid to enforce that charge without any flexibility. We didn’t get anything else, and yet the cost stood.
What really bothered me wasn’t just the charge—it was the lack of empathy or effort to make it right. No offer to adjust, no acknowledgment that the rest of the toppings were skipped. Just a flat transaction and a missed opportunity to show care.
That’s why I didn’t leave a tip. Not out of spite, but because tipping reflects service—and in this case, there wasn’t any. When you’re serving a parent and their child, a little kindness goes a long way. Instead, we were left feeling like every penny mattered more than the experience.
Bar Burrito, I hope you reconsider how you handle small charges like this. Families notice when they’re treated like a number, and it’s the kind of thing that makes us think twice about coming back.
