The food is very good. I recommend starting with mussels and the carpacio. Then sharing a couple of mains. The lobster ravioli is especially delicious. Unfortunately, the cocktail menu is very short. It's a bit pricey for the meal especially when surrounded by several good restaurants.

Best atmosphere in the city. My girlfriend and I love spending Saturday nights here! We get a couple appetizers and some great cocktails. Meet new people and enjoy the people watching. Flavious is always so pleasant and so accommodating, we can’t help but come back. Definitely check this place out!

Birdog is a place we truly love! The ambience is amazing, especially on a warm summer day. Recently, after attending a show at Rajan’s place, we stopped by with friends to relax on the patio, and it was such a great experience. The service was excellent, and we enjoyed some drinks and finger foods in a lively yet cozy atmosphere.
As a vegan, I ordered the fried Brussels sprouts prepared in a vegan version, while a friend tried the regular option — both were absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. Even the fries stood out, with a generous touch of black pepper that made them unique and memorable.
Highly recommend Birdog if you want to enjoy not only great food and service but also the vibrant vibe of 104th Street, one of my favorite streets in Edmonton.

Birdog is a hidden gem in downtown Edmonton that offers an exceptional dining and nightlife experience… The moment you walk in the cozy and trendy design welcomes you with warm wood accents and soft lighting creating an intimate yet upscale vibe. We reserved a table for a small group and were seated promptly by friendly staff. The drink menu is phenomenal, from craft beer to creative cocktails and a well curated wine list. I started with one of their signature cocktails which was perfectly balanced and beautifully presented. For appetizers we shared a charcuterie board and truffle fries and each dish was artfully plated and full of flavour. For mains we tried several dishes, the steak tartare rigatoni and salmon, and each one showcased quality ingredients and expert preparation. The highlight of the evening was the live music performance that added energy without overpowering conversation. Throughout our visit the service was attentive and knowledgeable offering recommendations and making sure our glasses were never empty. The washrooms and overall facilities are clean and accessible and although parking downtown can be challenging Birdog has nearby paid street and lot options. Overall Birdog delivers a complete dining experience with great drinks, delicious food, live entertainment and an atmosphere that feels both relaxed and refined. It’s the perfect spot for catching up with friends or enjoying a date night and I look forward to returning soon.

First time visit. I was in the area, usually I go to Sabor but I spot this place and decided to try.
Not busy, very good friendly service.
I was alone and ordered the Chicken Milanese. Very well prepared, good portion of greens, healthy.
Nice cozy seating and atmosphere.
The issue the bartender was very loud speaking with customers. Few customers were loud as well they look kind of high.
I liked the music.

Fantastic food, don’t buy the lobster ravioli it’s lobster husk in a cream sauce and 8 ravioli for $29. Not even worth $20

My husband and I dinned here for the first time tonight and overall a good experience we’ll be trying it again. Quite little place, the patio doors were open letting in a nice breeze, service was fairly quick and friendly. For starters we did the oysters and charcuterie board. The charcuterie board was the best I’ve ever had, we both agreed it was delicious and big portion we even had some to take home. Oysters were $55 for 12, up there with the most expensive I’ve ever had. A few were almost non existent very tiny and they were a little fishy for my liking I’m usually a big fan but I’ll give them another shot on a Thursday when they have buck a shuck.
Scallops were delicious, so were the cocktails. My husband ordered one of their pizzas, and was very surprised to find it did not come with any pizza sauce. Just cheese and toppings and was extremely spicy.
For dessert we ordered the donuts, they were tasty but were not donuts. They were in the shape of bread sticks.
I would also point out the majority of their menu online is not actually available once there. Overall it’s worth a second chance.

Birdog was a real treat. Service was top notch, the room looks great, and the food was supreme.
The girl and I started by sharing an order of mussels, which were fresh and delicious, with lots of sauce.
For our mains, she chose the lobster ravioli, which she loved. It was a large portion, and she was delighted that she could actually taste the lobster over the pasta and sauce.
I got the bison, which was cooked beautifully. It came with roasted potatoes, which were crispy and well-seasoned, a very flavorful sauce (my ONLY complaint is that there wasn't just a little more sauce), and an avocado-lime puree, which was quite refreshing. It was an excellent dish, and very reasonably priced.
All in all, we had a truly outstanding experience at Birdog, and will definitely be returning.

Indigenous customer asked to leave and pay. There was no reasoning or cause for this. Totally disrespectful and the racial profiling needs to stop.
Thank you for your response. I understand that businesses have policies and it is your right to uphold them. But when an Elder or Indigenous person shares that they felt profiled or experienced racism it is not something to dismiss or explain away. It is something to sit with and reflect on. Indigenous people in this city and across this country are too often treated with suspicion disrespect or disbelief.
In this situation the individuals involved say they were asked to leave before their food even arrived. They were not sleeping or removing their shoes. The reasons given afterwards only add to the harm because they mirror old stereotypes that continue to follow Indigenous people everywhere we go. These assumptions are not harmless. They shape how we are treated how we are seen and whether or not we feel safe in public spaces.
This is not about creating conflict or blaming. It is about recognizing that Indigenous people deserve dignity and respect. Our experiences matter. Sharing them is not meant to attack but to push for a future where Indigenous people are not shamed judged or removed from spaces based on appearance or bias.
We all have a responsibility to do better to listen and to grow. That is the kind of future I want for all of us.

Extremely rude service! Definitely would not recommend
It’s 2025 and they still have the audacity to racially profile Indigenous people.
Food DEFINITELY wasn’t worth the money!

A Truly Great Experience from Start to Finish!
Our recent visit was an absolute delight, and we can honestly say the changes to the food menu are a significant improvement. It's wonderful to see a shift away from typical Canadian fusion towards more culturally inspired dishes. The Arctic Char, Bison Carpaccio, and Mussels were particularly impressive and a testament to the exciting new direction.
Our server, a kind and knowledgeable individual with lots of tattoos (we regret not remembering her name!), truly enhanced our evening. Her recommendations were spot-on, and her attentive service made us feel incredibly well cared for.
We are already looking forward to our next visit!
