Disastrous Mother's Day Meal at Black Pearl Windermere: Our Mother's Day reservation at the Black Pearl's Windermere location on May 11th, 2025, proved to be a significant disappointment, especially considering the $375 we invested in what should have been a special occasion. The reality was a profoundly underwhelming and frankly insulting dining experience. The meal began with a frustratingly staggered arrival of our dishes. The Lobster Ravioli appeared first, followed by the Lobster Surf and Turf Mac and Cheese roughly five minutes later. The King's Platter then finally arrived a full fifteen minutes after the mac and cheese, disrupting any semblance of a shared dining experience. The quality of the food itself was shockingly poor across the board. The mac and cheese was watery and devoid of any expected richness, while all three entrees suffered from a severe lack of seasoning, rendering them incredibly bland. The seafood, including the lobster, was undersalted and had an unpleasant rubbery texture, indicating issues with cooking or ingredient quality. Adding to our dissatisfaction was the glacial pace of the service. We waited over an hour for the initial dishes to arrive, and the subsequent delays between courses only compounded our frustration. Even more concerning was the complete lack of response when we raised these significant issues with our server. Our complaints were met with silence and no attempt to rectify the situation, which felt particularly egregious given the special occasion. Despite the considerable $375 spent, the inedible quality of the food left us with unfinished plates and empty stomachs. Instead of a celebratory Mother's Day meal, we were compelled to return home and eat toast. This experience at the Black Pearl Windermere was a serious waste of money and a significant letdown. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant and strongly advise others to seek alternative options for their dining needs, especially for special occasions. We emailed the regional manager, still waiting for a response.

Place is ok. The mussels were fresh and those were good. However the pasta with the giant king crab leg in it was just ok as well. Flavors were leaning more to the bland side of things. Wasn't terrible. Wasn't great.

We had King Crab Mushroom Caps, Lobster Ravioli, Seafood Flatbread, and Lobster & Prawn Risotto.

Lobster Ravioli was rich and creamy, exemplified by the seafood flavor. Seafood Flatbread was delightful to taste. King Crab Mushroom Caps amalgamated the flavor of tomatoes, cheese, and mushroom in a wholesome manner. However, Lobster & Prawn Risotto left much to be desired. The Risotto was dry and gummy.

The service provided by Jens was exemplary. He was knowledgeable in food recommendations, which was greatly appreciated.

Awesome restaurant with great vibes! Staff were amazing! Super accommodating, personable and friendly! My Only complaint would be the prices. Totally understand it's seafood but still, with today's economy, a beautiful place like this will go under fast as people won't be able to afford meals like that. As well, super disappointed that my mom's birthday dessert was not free ($20) along with my 85yr old grandmother not getting any kind of senior discount and having to pay $10 for a bottle of water. The least you can do are those things when people are dropping over $600 and a 20% tip.

Kid-friendliness: Had highchair for my daughter.

The experience was alright at Black Pearl Windermere. The raw oysters were not bad, but didn't have many different selection options. However, the Oyster Rockefeller was satisfying. We also had the Lobster Shrimp Risotto and Lobster Ravioli. The risotto was fairly disappointing; it was lacking cohesiveness. Just here's a lobster claw and couple shrimp added on top of the risotto as an afterthought. The protein was lacking flavor and sauce, and the lobster was overcooked with barely any meat. The Ravioli was decent, just wished there was a bit more. All in all, the experience was okay, but I wouldn't be rushing to come back here anytime soon.

Underwhelming is really the only way to describe this restaurant. The oysters and bruschetta were delicious but the mushroom caps were bland and everything on the kings platter was either over or under cooked.
But the drinks were on point 👌🏼

The waiter was too insistent on talking (I guess because of the tip), we had to ask him we will call him in case we need him. Instead of talking about our plans for the afternoon, they should have been more attentive to the orders that the customers make. We asked for mussels in gorgonzola sauce and the kitchen stuff made us in wine sauce. The oysters are average. Their Caesar cocktail, let's say with seafood, was bad. The truth is that I won't be back. There are better, cheaper places.

Food was good, the biggest issue was the lack of proper utensils for shelling the seafood. We had the seafood tower. The utensils were cheap and did not suffice. For an over 350 dollar bill for two people I would of atleast liked to see proper durable shelling utensils. They were to flimsy so you couldn't properly shell the seafood.

Had high hopes. The decor and vibe is stunning but food lacks. Nothing was that great. I wouldn’t go back. Lobster bisque was disappointing, got the king platter and many of the sauces were pretty bad.
Mushrooms was the only dish that was good but that was it.

Ambiance is great and staff are attentive and excellent. Food though is mediocre. Shrimp was dry, seafood in general was bland and overcooked. We spent well over 500 for a table of 4 and we thought the quality of the food was nowhere near the price point!

My family and I enjoyed a beautiful dinner for my mom’s birthday FEB 1st. The place is so decorative, atmosphere is amazing! Our food tasted great ! We even made friends with the cook in the back, she gave my mother a free dessert for her birthday(highly appreciated) thank you! I would recommend to anyone who loves seafood! We will definitely be back in the summer to try out the patio section!

Made reservations for January 21st, 2025. Party of 4. Milestone Birthday Celebration. Found dining area cool and table for 4 was a little small. Ordered PEI Mussels with Gorgonzola Sauce and bread to start. Sauce was very good. Quality of the mussels was below par … definitely not restaurant quality. Bread was excellent. Price for wines was a little high starting at $17 for a 5oz glass. All 4 entrees that we ordered were below par. Order included 1- Honey Nut Lobster, Prawns & Scallops, 2 - Lobster & Prawn Risotto and 1 - Captains Dream. Not a whole lot of flavour in the dishes. The roux for each dish was pretty much the same for every dish. Our party did some plate sharing and all of us found the dishes to be lacking flavour. Fish fillets were dried out and overcooked. Again mussels were poor quality. Server was friendly and punctual. There was no mention of the 70th Birthday Celebration by the staff or any offers made by the establishment to mark the occasion. Would I recommend this establishment to friends and family? -no. Did I enjoy this establishment enough to return at a later date? - no. If I could redo the birthday celebration over, I would put the $260 spent on the meal towards fresher / higher quality ingredients and cook at home. The overall dining experience was subpar for the amount of money spent.
