I discovered this place before realizing its long nostalgic history and authority in authentic European bakery. I was simply searching for the best canelé in town — and this is the only place that truly has it.

The canelé is the best I’ve ever had, even compared with those I’ve tried in many famous cities around the world. Finely- crispy crust and melt-in-the-mouth custard filling, with highly visible real vanilla beans. It also led me to discover that all of their other items are equally amazing. I’d especially like to highlight the flourless chocolate cake and the sliced brioche bread.

The service is fantastic. The staff are very friendly, patient, and always able to give great recommendations across my last 4 visits in past 2 months.

This shop has now become part of my weekly routine, and my goal is to try every single item. Edmonton should be proud to have this gem representing one of the professionalism of bakery of the city.

Do not recommend for POC. There were 4 workers and 2 other customers in the store. The older white man came in without a number and was helped right away. After waiting awhile for a hi or for help we were instead met with “57” even though we had been in the store for almost 5 minutes. The person i came with said “oh we didn't grab a number” and he just stared blankly at us and continued on with the numbers. When he went onto 58 it was the other white customer they were already helping. I grabbed a number but by then the number i grabbed was 62 and i just felt like enough of my time was wasted and left.

I have been going to Bon Ton Bakery since I was a kid. We lived around the corner and it is the best bakery in my life. The staff is friendly and the baked goods are so amazing still after 47 years.

So my family and I are lovers of Montreal Bagel every time we go down we bring back a suitcase full of bagels for the freezer. Bon Ton made some for bagel day and we of course bought 5 dozen! Would have been more but hesitated not sure of taste. Well they are really close but not the chew insides it’s more flaky than chewy. We still like a lot but not quite the same. Still worth the purchase, order ahead as they sold out. I have a news paper clipping from 1994 mentions BonTon and a copy of real Montreal bagels recipe!!

Great bakery with lots of choices! Everything is good. We just had one bad experience with a crew who doesn't seem to want to be there that day. Other than that, everyone seems helpful.

Bon Tob Bakery is truly one of the best bakeries in Edmonton and a real local treasure. It has been part of the community for many, many years, and its reputation for quality, consistency, and incredible European style baking is absolutely well deserved.

The desserts and breads are outstanding. The quality is always perfect, fresh, rich in flavor, and beautifully made. The European style truly stands out in every item, from pastries to artisan breads. I honestly do not remember ever being disappointed with anything I have picked up from Bantam Bakery.

Many times, I stop by for a coffee, grab something delicious to eat, and pick up fresh bread for home. Their selection is amazing with so many different options to choose from, which makes every visit exciting.

Bon Tob Bakery is truly an asset to Edmonton, a place that adds charm, quality, and community to the city. Thank you Bantam, we genuinely love your bakery.
