Small place so seating is limited. During the summer they have a cute outdoor patio which offers more room to visit. Service was ok, nothing special or even inviting. Coffee was fine had better in other places. Definitely a community place, where the locals go.

Celiacs rejoice. They have gf tart shells so you have lots of choices.. Great coffee, service and vibes. If you're celiac and going on a weekend, just call in advance and ask them to set aside some gf tart shells for you.

Stumbled across this place . What a vibe. It has an adorable outdoor space which I’m sure in the summer is heaven to sit in. The indoors is bright and quaint and makes u feel like u are not just in an Edmonton coffee shop. Ordered a handful of the baked goods to try and all were knockouts. Well done. Will definitely be making this my local stop.

Cute little place surrounded by residential. It’s in a secluded place. The inside is small but it’s intimate.
Ordered their Strawberry Matcha - had the perfect mix and you can still taste the Matcha.
Service was fast.

Really enjoyed this place, the space is small, but their chai latte was delicious and their sweets are also lovely. I highly recommend this place

This was a very cute little coffee shop! I had hot chocolate and a cookie and both were yummy. Just a note that it is quite small, so there is a chance you'll have to wait for a seat (luckily a table was leaving not long after we went in).

Boxcar Coffee Shop in Edmonton absolutely lived up to the hype. It came highly recommended, and since I’m in town for a local event, I knew I had to check it out. I’m really glad I did.

I ordered a cappuccino and their popular signature tres leches cake, and both were excellent. The cappuccino was smooth, well-balanced, and clearly made with care. The tres leches cake was a standout. Moist and rich with the perfect combination of three milks, custard, and pineapple, it was indulgent without being overly sweet and easily one of the best desserts I’ve had in a café setting.

The space itself is cozy and quaint with a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes you want to sit and stay awhile. On top of that, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better.

If you’re visiting Edmonton or even a local looking for a great coffee spot with amazing desserts, Boxcar Coffee Shop is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town.

The café is much smaller than I'd expected, which in the crush of the Sunday afternoon coffee crowd made it quite loud at certain points. With the parking bans, it was also a bit hard to find parking.

The food, staff and general ambiance are spectacular. Some noise dampening panels or something would help the atmosphere quite a bit I think.

I tasted the iced horchata, and it sadly had a gritty texture although I was looking forward to it. :( I also tried the iced chai but there wasn't much of a tea element for the chai. I think their hot versions of drinks may be better. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere is great!

Such a cute cafe in a very under-the-radar neighbourhood. I love it & will come here again. The customer service was great & the pastry almond tart unusual but yummy. Love the decor and the patio there.
