My father and I shared a really nice dinner at Braven last night. Our server (her name is escaping me, but she had long blonde hair and was sooo nice) made sure we had our dinner in a timely matter before our concert, and had great drink recomendations after I told her my preferences. As always, the brussel sprouts were amazing, and we reccomend both the curry bowl for a vegetarian option and the flatiron steak with chimichurri!

I thought the prices didn't reflect the value of the food, the drinks or the service. Had to wait a long time for our appetizer and dinner. The appetizer scallops were thumb nail size and under cooked (they were cooked on one side and not the other), the pork belly was dry and lack depth, and the pea puree was ok at best. The "organic salmon" I ordered was small (maybe 125-135 grams max) and the flesh side was a little burnt, the broccolini was under seasoned and the size was way too much for a side dish accompaniment, I guess that's a good thing?The drink and wine selection was substancial, but the beer was mediocre and boring. The server was ok, but everytime he came between our table to ask the other customer at the table next to us how they were doing, he'had his backside in my face, very unprofessional. The concert that we attended after dinner made up for mediocre dinner experience. After paying what we paid , we probably won't go back.

There is no question that the food is fabulous at Braven but what added so much to our experience is the wonderful service we received from our waiter, Nick. We have had the pleasure of being served by him twice now and I'll say he definitely adds to the atmosphere.

We had a date night here at Braven - our server Nick was a stand-out guy. The rest of the staff are attentive and very respectful, ensuring we have a 5-star experience. Having lived in Dubai for over a decade, I was craving a luxury dining experience in Edmonton, and I was not disappointed. If you dine here, make sure you get the chapeau for full experience. I loved the signature Shangria but not so much the el gobernador. The smoked pear whiskey is a must-have for whiskey lovers. We will be back

I would give a better rating as the server we had was amazing, as was the ambiance and food. We had an incredibly hard time with our reservation because of the head hostess. Very rude, to all members of our group and not accommodating. We called ahead of time to get a reservation for our group which included 6 kids (mostly elementary to preteen age, two younger ones with food allergies). We were told to call back another time because they were busy, they should have room (it was 8pm when we called). I had a member of our dinner party go to restaurant to ask the next day, the hostess said they were fully booked. We checked on open table, we were able to make reservations for all of us (definitely not fully booked). We get to the restaurant earlier than the reservation to ask if we could be seated close together, as the kids would be at one table, she outright refused and refused to get the manager for us to talk to. We still go inside, she seated the children at the furthest table from our other two tables, even though there was ample seating directly beside them to accommodate our party, and servers covering those tables. The restaurant had plenty of seating that could have accommodated us all together or very close by each other. Luckily the other hostess worked with us to come to a better compromise, combining two tables where we could be near the children. All other staff were very lovely, food was great, the head hostess was incredibly rude on more than one occasion with more than one person in our group including myself. Everyone was shook, but luckily we bounced back and didn't let that affect our meal (we're all visiting from out of town). Very disappointing for JW standards, not what we have experienced before at any of their other locations. Not helpful on the phone or in person with advance notice, or letting us talk to the manager, or saying the restaurant was full when asked for seating. Unbelievable.

Food was great, we had a reservation at 6, but when we arrived there was only one tiny table available for us right at the entrance, which was less than ideal. We got the land and sea board and it was great. I had the short rib and my date had the duck, she said it was the best duck she ever had. Overall we loved it, but would prefer better seating, especially with a reservation.
