Went to try the high tea special this evening. Very much recommend! Service was fantastic, tea options were plentiful (we got the vanilla black tea on recommendation and it was a great pick). Loved the sweet pastries, especially the pink heart cookies and the fruit tart (even had gold dust!) will come back to try some hot food options. All our high tea savory samplings were vegetarian

The highlight of this place for me was definitely the owner. He was so, so kind and welcoming. He told us history of the cafe and of the Mauritius people and their cuisine. He even gave us some vanilla tea, on the house, which was extremely fragrant and smooth, some of the nicest tea I've had!
We only had lunch food there, where I had fried rice and my friend had the curry. The fried rice had so many different ingredients in it, which made it unique and tasty.
I would definitely come back again, and would love to try the high tea someday. Would highly recommend anyone to come here and experience the food, and the excellent service

Our visit here was nothing short of a beautiful experience. My husband and I decided to indulge in their "high tea," which was very reasonably priced at $25 per person. I found myself savoring each one for its own unique flavor. Every bite offered something different, and by the end, I was reasonably full.
The service was impeccable. The staff took their time to carefully explain each dish, guiding us through the flavors we could expect with thoughtful detail. When it came to choosing a tea, the server made strong, enthusiastic recommendations that both my husband and I loved. They also shared the fascinating history of their vanilla tea, explaining its origins and how it’s made in their home country, which made the experience even more special.
I wholeheartedly recommend that anyone who has the chance should take the time to experience this. Each moment felt memorable and thoughtfully crafted.

I came in on October 9, 2024 around 6:00pm in a desperate search on Whyte Ave to find a decent cafe for a hot chocolate. I am so glad Google directed me to Cafe Bel-Air. I walked right in and the place was beautiful! There is such a lovely whimsical and sweet atmosphere to the cafe. While taking in the beauty, I was greeted by such a charming gentleman at the front who had boasted of their hot chocolate. He assured me the hot chocolate he was going to make was the best one in Alberta, and compared to all the cafes I've been to here, I would actually say he was correct!
It was not some liquid fudge and hot milk junk. It was a Milo Hot Chocolate made with love and beautifully decorated on-top, served with such a gracious confidence. I expressed my delight to the gentleman with a loud expletive which was warmly accepted with his ear-to-ear smile. I hope the woman in the back heard me because I am very happy to recommend this cafe. The treats were also delicious. There is an obvious love and passion incorporated into the food and environment; definitely a cafe worth visiting.
Thank you for the lovely visit, my friend talked about this establishment almost the entire way home. I also didn't think to take a photo of the hot chocolate or strawberry neopolitan, but it looked beautiful and tasted so goddamn amazing. So well done!

Almost every dish has a vegetarian option, which is amazing, food was delicious, our server was so nice and taught us about Mauritius and the food there.
