Great place with good deals on frozen food. The fresh Sea food is really good. Jason was really helpful and friendly.

In order to enjoy some fish and chips, you have to pay for it in advance at the checkout then you awkwardly have to walk backwards through the lineup into the restaurant… Super weird

Inviting and courteous service today from all staff. The fellow in the seafood area was pleased to tell me about the fresh mussels they had on sale. Though I was primarily there to get some to-go Fish & Chips, it's nice to feel welcome in the store. The food was good at price value was worth it for fish & chips. Though, the Lobster Bisque wasn't the greatest and had too much a metal-y taste to it. The fresh sushi I had was really good too. Great store overall.

Great selection of artisanal products and seafood! Tons of oysters and some harder to find items like caviar, octopus etc.

"I had a very unpleasant experience working in this store. The goods I purchased were spoiled and had an unpleasant smell. When I asked for help to solve the problem, the store refused to offer a refund or replacement, and the staff was unfriendly throughout the process. This lack of customer service is unacceptable, and I will no longer shop here. I strongly advise others to avoid this store."

I called on Wednesday to order in advance as I had a bigger order. I ordered my food and given them my credit card information for payment. I came in today at 11:45a.m to pick up my orders. Ordering/pick up counter was very busy. I told a lady that was a manager I was picking up an order. She said it's on the counter over there. She said to me you don't have box or bags? I said no. Don't have you have lots of cardboard boxes? She said to me no they are in recycle bin and walked away. If someone is ordering a big take out don't you think it would be nice to have a box ready for them to carry things out. I walked to my car and grabbed 3 big bags. Came back in and found all the food was sitting on the counter. Not under the heat lamp. Food wasn't even worm when I packed into the bags. I wasn't asked if I needed any help. My hands were full. I picked up some rolls and waited in line to pay for them. One cashier on friday at lunch. Line was big. When it was my turn cashier said to me oh you have the big take out order. I said yes. She said can you show me what you have? I said what do you mean? She said I have to scan everything. I said I didn't pay for it? She said nope. I said they don't give you a list of items I ordered ? She said no. At this point I wasn't happy. How do you not talk to your cashiers and give them a list... well after all of this food wasn't very good.. Way too much batter no seasoning used at all. One thing that was good was my sushi rolls

This is a review for my most recent experience. I've been there a few times and they have not all been bad.

I ordered fish and chips as I have in the past, it is cooked right on the spot in front of you.
Fresh as can be.
A great price.
This time I had the halibut.

One thing I noticed is if you order the three-piece it's in a much larger to go box with double the amount of fries than if you order the two piece.

I found that odd that I was shorted on the amount of fries.

I digress.

I drove home 15 minutes away delighted to feast on my fish and chips and coleslaw. As I gently squeezed the lemon and opened up my tartar sauce to get ready to delve into the fresh piece of fish... I cut into it and immediately noticed that it was overcooked.
The crusted batter was HARD.
The fish inside was DRY.
NOT flaky and moist.
In fact so overdone that the fish had substantially separated away from the wall of the overdone batter. It was slightly a darker brown than what I would've recalled from previous moist tender orders.
I ate a bit of it and thought ..you know what... it's only $15 but I'm going to be a true KAREN and call the manager.
So I called and spoke to the manager. I explained my situation.
She asked me if there was any fish left??

I said yes...I have not eaten both pieces. She said please bring it back and then I will look at it.

I was an astounded Karen!!
I was not about to pack up the uneaten portion, put on my shoes, go down the elevator, into the parkade, leave my house, get in my car, drive 15 minutes to bring back a piece of fish.
I mean... come on...I was settled for the evening!!

She said come back tomorrow then. I was perplexed. Was I supposed to keep the fish that I was complaining was overcooked and dry in the fridge? And then bring it back the next day? And show her a dry piece of fish that had sat overnight refrigerated?
It just seems like a lot of effort to have something made right.
I guess maybe I expected compensation of a free order next time I come.

Needless to say I did not drive back that night.

I did not drive back the next day.

And I don't know that I will drive back ever.

I think my expectation that if I made the effort to make the call they would've trusted the customer and that my satisfaction was important.

Proof of bringing day old fish in for her to look at was not a reasonable request and was it really necessary?

Lesson of the story is that if you are going to be a KAREN you need to commit… Follow through… Be willing to do anything to be right.

Be willing to drive an hour each way if necessary for $14 compensation.

I don't have that kind of commitment.
So disappointing that I don't know where to get my fish and chips now for a decent price.
