Terrible Service

Absolute rip off. $100 bill and the portion sizes were absolutely ridiculously small. I was outraged and how overpriced the food was for the portion sizes. I will NEVER come back here again. Come on at least be fair! Wow. Scam artists for sure. I was embarrassed to be there and pay the bill, I felt like an idiot who just got ripped off. And was also felt angry that they are taking advantage of people. DO NOT EAT HERE!

We have been going here for years and was very disappointed tonight. The young guy who was our server was great but the female server was not. After we finished our meal we had plenty of food left and she asked us if we would like take out containers. Which of course we did, she brought us 2 large and 1 small container. When we got our bill she charged us $2.50 for the take out containers. There was NEVER any mention of a charge and any restaurant I been to has never charged for the containers for us to take our food home. When I asked her about it she said “it is restaurant policy”. If it is policy you NEED to tell your customers. I have taken food home there before and have never been charged. Unacceptable!

Racist staff who try to SCAM customers! If you ever intend to dine here (please don’t) ASK FOR A RECEIPT! It is an open secret that they charge indigenous workers more for their meals and I wouldn’t be surprised if they tried to pull this on regular customers. SHADY!

I’ve eaten at a few Chinese restaurants here in Edmonton and this is the best one for me so far. The reason aside from the taste? A common denominator for me for those other restaurants is their poor service and uncleanliness.

I’ve ordered a variety of dishes and what makes me go back are the Braised Beef Stew Noodle Soup and the Pork & Shrimp Dumplings. The soup is full of flavor and has that depth you want to taste in a beef mami. As for the siomai? It tastes like Hen Lin for me (it’s a popular siomai brand in the ??) and it’s really good!

Their Yang Chow Fried Rice is good! It’s a basic dish that Chinese restos rarely fail. I like theirs because you don’t need to add anything anymore. The Deep Fried Squid was cooked perfectly—the batter wasn’t thick, it was flaky in a good way. The Honey Garlic Pork was also good—I like how the batter wasn’t thick as well and there was still crunch to it.

As for previous orders I would recommend, I personally loved their Crispy Chicken w/ Garlic and the BBQ Platter.

Ate here July 20, 2024 and both myself and my friend got food poisoning! Do not recommend this place. The atmosphere is more like a cafeteria not a nice relaxing space.

The food is so fresh and delicious. It is one of our favourite restaurants in Edmonton. You can’t beat the friendly efficient service anywhere!

Vegetarian options: Stir fry veggies, noodles, green onion cakes and spicy tofu.

I ate here today for the first time. My lunch cost $35.00 including tax and tip. No drink.I ordered dim sum. Steamed pork on rice, shrimp wrapped in tofu, and steamed rice. I did not realize the Rivercree served dim sum. So I stopped in to give it a try.I'm not certain I would dine here again for dim sum. I would rather go to an actual dim sum restaurant. I did really like the soy sauce. It had a very nice flavor. The steamed rice was not as flavourful as I'm used to. The shrimp was ok. And steamed pork I thought was good. I think it being served with rice makes it good on its own as a dish for a meal. I'd order that again.I took the left overs home.
