We tried the unlimited option at Chinese Hot Pot and the range of food options was superb — fresh, varied, and well-prepared. If you go at the right time, it’s clear they put effort into quality and selection.

However, our experience was heavily affected by timing. We arrived 2 hours before closing, which is the allowed time for the buffet, but the buffet tables were already closed 1 hour before closing. While staff offered that we could order via paper menu, it completely ruined the experience. Most staff were busy cleaning and closing up, so getting refills was slow and awkward.

This setup made it hard to maximize the value of the unlimited price we paid. They should clearly inform guests about this restriction up front, because otherwise you might feel disappointed — we probably should have opted for the single-serve/ a la carte option instead.

Overall, the food quality is good, but I do not recommend visiting late in their hours or planning a “late-night” buffet experience. Timing is crucial here.

This hot pot is amazing! You order your base and meat from a menu provided when you sit and then go to the buffet for extras like veg, eggs, tendon, seafood etc. there is also a salad bar, dessert at and a place you can custom make your dipping sauces! It was well worth the price and for 2 adults and a kid the bill was $120 approx! We left full and happy!

The late night combo hot pot deal is great value in comparison to some of the other crap in the city.

They sat 7 of us pretty quick and the portion sizes were great for the price. (Except the fish balls, they're good but you get so so few of them 😔)

We came here for dinner, there was a 10 minute wait which was not bad at all. The service was excellent. The food was so good and hot pot experience was awesome! We will definitely come back again!

Great food, excellent service, and a warm and inviting atmosphere. All you can eat that truly means all you can eat! If you’re a first timer for hot pot, don’t worry, the staff are great at explaining it to you. There’s plenty of options for every appetite!

Everything was considered good until the end... It was our 1st time & we weren't aware that it was a 2hr stay. Customer service was not professional at all, the staff could of let us finish our food & said now you know for next time, but instead took my food & dumped it out, rushing us to pay & said your time is up. I've never experienced any situations like this ever from a restaurant especially paying that much. I was not even full & would of enjoyed my time somewhere else with a full stomach for $100. I'll never go back there & will let others know about my unpleasant stay. If someone wanted to have a Bday party there, it would be pointless to have enough time to enjoy & eat there with a 2hr limit. Plus some of their dishes still had food stuck on it after it was washed, this is not a place to recommend. Poor service! 🙄

I'm been going here for hot pot few times and I like the food and I'm been here with my family in the evening and you have excellent staff and excellent service and your hungry if your with a group of people or friends if you your hungry go to Chinese Hot pot buffet in Edmonton at Calgary trail in the Southside and you have excellent staff and excellent service you keep the bathroom clean keep up the excellent work you have excellent staff and do excellent service 👌

Phenomenoial customer service, Hanna was so amazing, she politely showed us food and dipping sauces to avoid to prevent potential shellfish allergies.

I always come here but yesterday, January 20th at 4pm was very unprofessional and unpleasant! The moment we walked inside the vibe was already off. Then the person who took the paper from our table was rude and my friend didn’t even got all her orders!!! then as we were paying they tried to charge us more than what we actually ordered!! And the woman was so unprofessional accusing us of ordering extra. Then she went to the kitchen to grab our order form and figured she was wrong but was NOT apologetic about it. If you’re unhappy with your job then work elsewhere! And make sure to double check my order before giving me an attitude!

This is a long standing hot pot place that has been around for a LONG time. Food is decent for what it is and one should know what to expect from a Chinese hot pot dinner. Service is definitely very spotty but is tied moreso to time of day. Go right at opening or off peak hours and service is decent and fast. Go during lunchtime or dinner especially on Friday night or weekend and you will see the service level plummet. Edmonton has a surprising amount of hot pot options given the size of this city compared to major hubs like YVR or YYZ. For my wife and family though this is a regular spot when we want hot pot due to familiarity and convenience of location. Not the absolute worst place we have ever eaten at but definitely room for improvement. Note, this should be a 3.5 star review but Google does not allow for half star ratings.
