the food was decent, but the smoke smell was throwing me off!! when i first entered the restaurant it smelled like cigarettes it was so bad and ruined my experience. room is stuffy. would come back if their area is nicer. service was great 10/10. just the smell is the problem especially people with allergies!

The food was ok. A little salty for me and my husband but i guess still depends on one's taste buds. But cannot complain about service, very welcoming and friendly staff.

My husband and I drove to Edmonton from Burnaby, BC. Upon arriving in Edmonton and checking in, we walked to the Chowkeni Restaurant which is attached to our hotel, for a late dinner. As soon as we got there, we were seated by Julie. She was soo warm and friendly. Then we met Nathan who gave us a great suggestion on what to order, he is the owner’s nephew and had lived in BC until 2 years ago. We met Sheila one of the owners. Who was also soo warm, friendly and very open about what they do. The food came and did not disappoint us, was delicious, also it was Filipino food so that was the major draw to this restaurant. Rhogie the chef, Sheila’s husband also came to meet us. Such a nice feeling to be with ‘kababayans’ who are doing well here. Rhogie and Sheila are such a wonderful couple and very generous, they’ve been helping out the victims of the Jasper fire. From their kitchen they cook and pack hundreds of packed meals to send there with the help of volunteers, to help out, and they do this everyday. We are glad that we have this restaurant connected to the hotel. The following day we stayed at the hotel all day to recuperate from our drive and the weather was rainy and windy, thanks to them, we were fed all day. Such a wonderful experience aside from meeting new friends, we would be coming back everytime we are in Edmonton. If you want authentic Filipino food this the place to be.
