A warm, community-oriented bakery experience in Oliver Square — highly recommended for various fresh breads (challah available), croissants, scones, and seasonal favourites like hot cross buns. Plenty of vegetarian options and friendly staff — the kind of neighbourhood bakery that naturally brings families, friends, and everyday moments together.

For a fuller picture —
COBS Bread is the kind of neighbourhood bakery that draws people in with the comforting smell of fresh baking and keeps them coming back with consistency and care. Tucked into the heart of Central Edmonton's Oliver Square and close to surrounding shops and services, it’s an easy stop that feels genuinely welcoming.

The atmosphere is clean, warm, and inviting, and the team delivers that simple, friendly kind of service that makes the experience feel personal rather than rushed. One tip: arrive earlier in the day when you’re craving something specific — popular items and seasonal favourites can sell out.

The menu offers a great mix of healthy, savoury, and sweet options that work for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and special times of year. Vegetarian choices are abundant, making it easy for mixed groups to find something satisfying. (Vegan and gluten-free availability wasn’t confirmed)

Some standout favourites include the feta & spinach croissant, ham & cheese croissant, cinnamon bun, white chocolate raspberry scone, mini pizzas, and whole grain breads. And if you’re lucky, there may even be samples ready to try and add to your favourites.

Parking is straightforward with free shared above-ground parking available, and paid underground parking nearby that’s especially welcome in colder months.

A warm, reliable bakery experience in Oliver Square — comforting, consistent, and easy to recommend.

Went in today. Asked for a raspberry danish. And a ham and cheese bun. Got back to the car and they had given us a scone instead of a danish. My husband ran back in to exchange it, and they gave him the danish. But to his shock they put the scone back into the display for selling!!! When he had touched it when opening the brown bag to see what it was. I couldn’t even eat after seeing that. Cuz who else did they do that with?! Disgusting. Not safe food practice at all. I’d recommend skipping this location. There’s better ones in the city. Yuck. Who ever gets that scone is lucky were clean freaks but the next person might not be so lucky!

I love this place, I come here way too often 😉 The danishes are HUGE and the bread is made with simple ingredients and tastes so good! So much selection, there's rye, high fiber, sourdough, and some sort of seed covered black one. I simply cannot recommend anywhere else for bread. Please do yourself a favor and try some, I promise it's life-changing

I'm soo disappointed! Today was my 3rd visit to this location at 2 hours before close each time and left with no bread or pastries because there was nothing left!!!! I understand that you don't want to have a lot of excess. However, you should have enough to sell to your customers. I drove to the Crestwood location and was able to purchase everything I was looking for! I won't be stopping here again. I don't have the patience to go to two locations and won't be bothered to visit your store.
