A long time local institution, this is the perfect diner experience. And the music is quiet enough to hear a conversation over. You will find that this is a common requirement in my critiques as I have hearing issues.

Friendly and warm atmosphere serving delicious traditional western fare. But maybe try the Chinese plate which comes with soup and dessert. My son loved it.

One of Edmontons oldest diners with the original 50's Diner vibes with great prices on all-day breakfast options and sandwiche with fries. I always have breakfast with coffee n tst for under $15. Things are just as they should be and I hope they stick around for another 75yrs.

I finally made it to the Commodore Restaurant on Jasper Avenue after hearing about it many times, and it was well worth the visit. I went for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon, and the moment I stepped inside, I was struck by the charming, old-fashioned diner ambience—it felt like a delightful step back in time.

The hostess was incredibly friendly and attentive, setting the tone for a pleasant dining experience. I ordered the corned beef with cabbage, and it came with a warm bowl of noodle soup that was just perfect. The corned beef was unbelievably soft, fresh, and flavorful, cooked to perfection. For dessert, I chose ice cream with chocolate sauce, a simple yet satisfying way to end the meal.

The coffee was freshly brewed, and with everything included, my bill—tip and all—came to less than $20. It's rare to find such quality and value together these days.

Highly recommended for anyone in the Jasper Avenue area who is looking for a quiet, simple, and satisfying meal. This place is truly a hidden gem!

One of my favourite places in Edmonton. I’ve always had fantastic service and I’ll never regret a dollar spent here. Love the old school vibe- it’s been seemingly untouched and there aren’t enough places like this anymore.

Great lowkey spot with quick friendly service for a super affordable breakfast. Paid $16 for three scrambled eggs (I added the 3rd egg), toast, potatoes, coffee, and added a plate of tomatoes.

Codiner and I decided to give it a try on a pleasant Saturday morning, after walking past on many occasions. It was very busy, but we snagged the last table (turnover is quick, though). It's a landmark in town, but it's also a greasy spoon, so adjust your expectations. Our service was fast and friendly, the food was tasty/reasonably priced, and the vibe was 70's diner. The downtown location does mean parking isn't free, but is available on the street.

What a great spot. Food was excellent, home made from scratch pancakes and a good serving of ham. Service was wonderful Margo gave us the history of the restaurant and was super attentive and just a nice lady. The vibe is really cool also. Just a great experience. Prices are great.

Absolutely the best breakfast in Edmonton. Been coming here for 8+ years and I still love the place.
Fantastic atmosphere and great food.
Went for breakfast on a sunny Sunday morning and it was busy but pleasant.
The waitress was very friendly and polite and made my day. Hard working and quick on her feet.
In my top 3 places to go in Edmonton and I can’t recommend this place enough.
If you’re a breakfast person this is the place.
Price is good.
And lots of hot fresh coffee ☕️
Love the dinner counter. Not too many places in Edmonton that feature a lunch counter.

Love this place! Authentic is the best word to describe this place. It reminded me of breakfast at my Grandmas growing up. Not fancy, but comforting.

A home cooked breakfast with real potatoes. Fairly economical and open since 1940.
