There's a reason why the Commodore restaurant has been a round for 75+ years now.
No frills. Just great food. Pies to die for. And a rare glimpse to the olden times of Edmonton. Best experienced sans mobile phones. Taking in the music and watching life as it happens on Japser Ave.

Commodore Restaurant is a beloved old school diner that oozes nostalgia... As soon as you step through the door you are transported back in time with its retro booths, wood panelling and friendly staff who greet regulars by name... The menu offers hearty Canadian Chinese classics alongside comforting breakfast staples... I sampled their classic wonton soup, savoury beef and broccoli stir fry and sweet and sour pork... everything was piping hot, flavourful and portion sizes were...
I highly recommend this place for nice lunch.
