I’ve been to this spot twice while working in Edmonton as it’s local to my hotel. The first visit was excellent, great friendly service and the owner came and sat with us for a bit. Food was good, drinks were good, all around a good visit. Second visit we were immediately accosted for sitting at the bar at 2pm on a Thursday. The server continued to be snotty and disingenuous. Not sure I’ll be back for a 3rd try.

My husband and I had a wonderful first experience here! We were seated quickly despite it being busy, and our server was excellent – attentive and friendly. She gave recommendations for a wheat beer and cocktail which were amazing!

We liked the pot roast, shepherd's pie, and chicken wings. Everything was delicious! The ambience was great, and the sticky toffee pudding for dessert was the PERFECT finish. We had a fantastic time and highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for good food and a cozy atmosphere!

We just moved into our apartment and went out for supper. Our service was terrible, i had butter chicke, which I love. No sure what I was served 😩 I asked for tea and the hot water was cold, both times. Just not a place I will be using again

Good place to eat, excellent food. Bit pricy, but within current market prices. Good place to meet friends and have a good meal with excellent service.

I don't know who thought of turning a Yorkshire pudding into a wrap, and filling it with roast beef, but that person should be given a Michellin star, an all expenses paid trip to the Bahamas and a free puppy...

As an Englishman, when I saw this on the menu, (the British burrito) i was horrified. I thought what kind of abomination have they created!! However, my mind was well and truly blown. It was honestly the best tasting meal I've had in a long time. The gravy was just like my old mum used to make. And just when I thought it couldn't get any better? I tried the sticky toffee pudding....

Absolutely going to recommend this place to every English person I see. And Canadian, and Venezuelan, Azerbaijanian and everybody else. Go here. It's awesome.

Service is amazing, price is great and food is unbelievable.

Will for sure be coming back, many times.

We have gone to the Cork & Barley several times and although the food is usually good there is always something amiss.
This time we ordered the special of Shepard's Pie. The description was - Comfort food at its finest! AAA ground beef chuck in seasoned gravy with peaches and cream corn kernels, topped with mashed potatoes and melted shredded cheese, served with a side of garlic toast. What we got was a very light layer of ground beef with very little gravy and absolutely no veggies topped heavily with mashed potatoes. We also got the Steak Sammy, which is a NY Striploin served on garlic toast with sesame aioli. Steak cooked as ordered but the garlic toast was little more than a crouton. Finally, we got the Pot Roast which is roast beef, carrots, mashed potatoes and gravy stuffed in a Yorkshire Pudding bowl. It was good but the Yorkshire was burnt on the bottom. It seems attention to detail is missing here. Service was great, drinks were great, food was not great!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cork & Barley – Comfort Food Meets Art, with a Side of Family Vibes

Had the absolute pleasure of dining at Cork & Barley, and I’m still thinking about it! The food looked like art and tasted like a well-prepared home-cooked meal—the best of both worlds.

I had the Yorkshire encased pot roast, and it was delicious and perfectly seasoned. The mashed potatoes were spot on—smooth but with texture—and the carrots were sliced thickly, cooked thoroughly yet still had that satisfying snap. I paired it with a peppermint tea, which rounded everything out beautifully.

My partner had the bangers and mash, and that sausage was packed with flavor—he loved it. For dessert, we shared the sticky toffee pudding, and wow—it was mouth-watering, with the perfect balance of moist cake and rich sauce. The textures were flawless from start to finish.

Now I could stop there, but what truly made this visit special was the staff—they were so friendly and welcoming, I immediately felt like family. On top of that, the decor is kitschy but neat, adding to the charm of the whole experience.

I will definitely be back. If you want incredible food, warm service, and cozy vibes, Cork & Barley is the place to be. 5 stars!

Food was good, place was clean and nice. But our waitress should of just left her mouth shut. She was very rude and her only remorse was "oh that was so embarrassing for me". Honestly should of just stayed in the old folks home cause she clearly didn't know where she was.
