Small restaurant with outdated furniture. The long couch badly needs a repair. The burger was excellent and the server was fine. It's located in an upscale neighborhood so it should look a little nicer when you walk in. Not a good 1st impression.

I was still willing to support a local business understanding the financial challenges the pandemic had bestowed.The real letdown was supporting a business with intention over the pandemic and being welcomed until the rep programs inception. I even shared a couple private conversations with the owner which I felt were respectful and open. Specials were always available for takeout too which was great for the oilers specials, with 4 kids it’s so much nicer to watch the game at home.Well I called to place a takeout order for the oilers specials about 120$ order in October 2021 and was told the special was for dine in only. I said oh it’s always been available for takeout during the pandemic and your post doesn’t indicate dine in only. I also said I’m not allowed to dine in due to v status so it feels really unfair especially after being a vocal supporter of this local business. Knowing that the sweet girl who answered didn’t have much input I politely said ok thank you but I will need to cancel this order. I then wrote a comment on the business Facebook page and their specific post for that day asking for some clarification or for the opportunity to speak about the experience, instead of responding the business hid or deleted my comments. I then posted the comment again identifying that it had previously been hid or deleted. I also wrote a post tagging the business on my own page and no response. Months later in feb when the rep program was being removed, I private messaged the business asking if they were welcoming all patrons or keeping rep program— no response. This business has certainly implied that they are happy to turn away business from those who believe in medical freedom of choice. Choose with your dollars folks. This local joint has lost our business forever. And Im A squeaky wheel so here we are. All it would have taken was an opportunity to chat. Cheers

Not the best burgers (or fries), but the mini-donuts are amazing:Ordered from this place because it was still being advertised as Deluxe Burger Bar via online delivery and its burgers had received a good review in EDify Magazine (Avenue Magazine).I was pretty disappointed with my burger (wasn't much better than a McDonald's burger imo) and the pricey craft soda advertised in the online menu was not the one I received in the end. And for some reason the outside of the container that the food came in had a smear of sauce that was not part of the order. I called the restaurant and the situation was redeemed with a $10 gift card, which I used to buy mini donuts later on. The mini-donuts were absolutely incredible! So while I wouldn't recommend the burgers (or fries or soda), I would recommend the donuts.

EIA location …..first timer at Deluxe Burger Bar. Finally a real/very good burger. Burger was hot and juicy. The fries were hot, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Service was A+.

Unbelievably great service!! I had placed an order through skip the dishes and after an hour and a half with skip for some reason not wanting to send a delivery driver to pick up my order. 142 called me and let me know they were having the same issue with skip that I was. So I told them to just cancel my order through skip and I’d run down and pick it up myself. Once I got down to the restaurant they told me it was on the house!! Even though it really wasn’t their fault! My two girls absolutely loved the burgers and fries and my food was also fantastic! Thanks 142.

Edmonton's and Alberta's best burgers!!! A five star burger bar. I visit 142 Bistro Bar regularly because...... Great food, staff, atmosphere, parking, location - this is a must go-to restaurant that has it all. A wonderful place to take the family for dinner or to drop in with a few buddies for a couple of cold locally brewed beers, or with a client for a casual business lunch. On top of all of this, 142 Bistro Bar is a fanatical supporter of local sports, the Oilers and the Canadian National Soccer Teams in particular. They (Owner Jim Skagos) also provide financial support to numerous charities and to the community in which they do business. If you are visiting from out of town, 142 Bistro Bar will feel like home and if you are from town, 142 Bistro Bar will become the burger and beer bar for regular visits with your "pals" for a relaxed evening out. If you are feeling like you want the same qualities, but you want Italian food, Italia Mia is nearby and you won't be disappointed - easily the best pizza in Edmonton and Alberta. Note: To be fair, I recommend 142 Bistro Bar in my google review of Italia Mia. I feel strongly about recommending the places I believe are the best and most likely places others, like me, will put on their lunch or evening-out dining rotation. Enjoy! Both Jim Skagos of 142 Bistro Bar and Carlo Railo of Italia Mia will ensure you have a wonderful dining experience when you visit their restaurants. Great parking, lots of room and place was easy to find. Friendly staff, got seated upon entering. Waitress took drink orders right away and came back multiple times to check in on us. Milkshake was great but don't know if it was worth the price. But creamy, flavorful and good whipped cream on top. Bison burger with blueberry and brie was awesome. Moist, flavorful, great taste combination I wouldn't have thought of. Fries were all tiny bits but that was almost better since they get all crispy which is my preference. Got a mayo based dip but not sure what it was for. Friend got the fish on a gluten-free bun. She said it was good - both the bun and the fish. Atmosphere was nice, could be a great date spot, or just a place to meet friend(s). Lots of options on the menu for all tastes.
The buffalo chicken sandwich, side ceasar, and parm fries with dip were excellent and very filling! The buffalo chicken sandwich was a great level of spicy, but pretty messy with all the sauce

I loved the dip that came with the fries and the salad was perfectly dressed and was topped with yummy bacon (wished there were some croutons). Great service as well!
