The food looks like the menu photo! The food was delicious and tastes like it was made with high quality ingredients. My wife and I split both types of ramen and were equally as impressed. The value for this quality of food is top-notch!
The service was just as good as the food - friendly, attentive and professional.
It's nice to tip for genuine service rather than an obligation.
We'll definitely be back and will hopefully introduce some friends to this gem of a spot!

Pretty sure it was the best Japanese food I got out-site Japan. If you’re in Edmonton definitely worth trying it! I ordered the miso ramen and it was incredible. Immaculate food, service and ambience.

Great place. Reminds me of restaurants I tried in Tokyo and Kyoto. Had a cool video on the TV showing how sushi chefs prepare sushi. Might be my go-to spot from now on!

We came for lunch and got three things to try. Miso ramen, chicken miso udon, and the tonkatsu curry udon. The tonkatsu was very crispy and the curry flavor was good. The chicken miso udon was creamy yet not too heavy. The miso ramen was also good, it was flavorful but not too salty.
Prices are reasonable and the portions are filling. The owner is very attentive and friendly. Great place to get lunch on Jasper Ave, especially because there is free parking at the back!

Not rating service or atmosphere cuz I've never been in person. I really want to though! Nothing feels better than ordering a tonkatsu don on skip or ubereats after an exam I probably bombed and just absolutely ripping into it head-empty-no-thoughts style. The pieces are thick and satisfying to sink your teeth into and the sauce is like. perfect?? for the meat??? I'm not gonna complain about the slight lack of crunch. I order delivery, of COURSE it's not crunchy that's just what happens when you don't eat in. AND it's not 25 bucks for half the meat!! Maaan I should really swing by in person.
Donburi King is such a hidden gem! I went for lunch with my family and ordered the tonkatsu curry, ramen, and grilled squid — everything was delicious and full of flavor. The curry had a perfect balance of savory and rich, and the ramen broth was comforting without being too salty. The grilled squid was tender and perfectly charred.
The service was excellent — the owner was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything came out quickly. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, making it a great spot for a casual lunch or a quick bite with friends. Definitely a new go to!
