Meh. It was okay but nothing mind blowing. We read the reviews beforehand and had high expectations. I found the food to be quite bland. Should season their food a bit.

Delicious food, chill atmosphere, and friendly staff. The cocktail I tried was delicious, too!

Had such a nice lunch here! Bookmarked it for our quick trip to Edmonton. Arrived around their 11:30 am opening on a Saturday. Restaurant wasn't too busy (at most 4-5 tables were filled over lunch). Their Vegan Ramen ($16.80) was delicious. The chili oil added very subtle heat to the otherwise creamy broth, which was perfect for me as I'm not big on spicy food. Maybe ask for more if you want a bit more of a kick! Loved the seafood mushrooms included. The addition of some other veggies like cooked corn or eggplant might elevate the bowl a bit more (to join the existing onions, cabbage, sprouts and chives). Still an excellent bowl of ramen!
The Pork Katsu Toji Lunch Set ($19.80) was also satisfying. Tender pork cutlet, and the savory soup it was simmered in (with egg and green onion) had a unique consistency. Very flavourful! Even the miso soup felt elevated with small pieces of eggplant in addition to the usual tofu and green onions. The daikon pickles cut into some of the richness of the cutlet. Great service. Would recommend!

We enjoyed the shaka shaka fries and it was a very calm atmosphere at lunch time.

Osaka Dorinku on Jasper Ave blends a glimmering walk-up presence with standout design and excellent service. A nine-piece appetizer spread, sushi, ramen served at the perfect temperature, warm sake, and a matcha crème brûlée all landed just right. Original, distinctive, and quietly playful—including a secret private room if you know where to look—do you?

Dorinku on Jasper Avenue delivers that downtown Edmonton spark the moment you arrive—curious, inviting, and thoughtfully designed. Inside, the décor rewards attention, with details worth noticing from the front window through to the bathrooms. Service remained friendly, efficient, and well paced throughout the visit. The menu balances variety and execution beautifully, spanning sushi, ramen, and a well-composed appetizer set, paired with sake that feels especially right on a cold, windy evening and finished with a refined matcha crème brûlée. When the restaurant fills, a stylish back room opens with a noticeably different atmosphere, and there’s also a discreet private room—ideal for 4–8 guests—offering full privacy, karaoke, and a PS4.

We showed up on Sunday evening with a large party as a walk in (14 of us). Of course I would have made a reservation if I had known that we were going to go but it was a spur of the moment after show dinner. The staff was SO friendly and accommodating. I couldnt believe how great the service was. The cocktails were unreal and everyone was SO happy with their meals. It was a great experience and I will definitely be back. Thanks again for a super memorable evening.

Why would you stop offering ebi mayo? And chicken nanban? And you can’t get shaka shaka fries until late night only? Are you senseless? I loved coming here and brought so many different people I know and we’d get ebi mayo which was always one of the biggest hits with everyone. We’d also get chicken karaage, chicken nanban, shaka shaka fries. I went one time and they said ebi mayo is only for lunch. Now it’s totally eliminated. I’ve never gone here for lunch anyway and have no intention to. And now no chicken nanban at all and no shaka shaka fries at dinner time. You can’t make fried shrimp, chicken and fries? It’s so disappointing. You’ve lost your mind. One of my favourite places to go and bring people and go on dates and you don’t offer half the things I and everyone and brought loved.
I got the Tonkotsu shio ramen and the takoyaki. The ramen was very mild, as if someone had rinsed out some tofu with a bit of miso and called it broth. The garnish was haphazardly tossed in and the tonkotsu just seemed like thick sliced bacon. The takoyaki also severely lacked in octopus.

I can't say enough nice things about the downtown Dorinku. My girlfriend and I hit this place regularly for dinner, and the food is always great, service is always incredible, and atmosphere is my jam, with a unique mix of Asian music and hip-hop. It provides more of a fine dining experience compared t the Whyte Ave location, which I love. If you haven't checked it out yet, you're missing out on one of the best restaurants in all of Edmonton.

Had the best experience with kayle, a great server and very friendly. She has great conversation, nothing like the awkward server type of conversation, which I am so thankful for. She’s very attentive and doesn’t rush. Always checking in to see if we were okay or the food was to our liking, which it was, obviously, the food taste better when there’s such good energy.
This was always my go to place for a good meal but the experience just keeps getting better. I highly recommend going out here!!!

Food is delicious and great vibe. The chicken karaage is a crowd favourite and comes with generously large pieces! Get the pressed sushi, the boat is perfect for 3-4 people. The Naminooto sake is so refreshing and easy to drink!
