I got the Tonkotsu shio ramen and the takoyaki. The ramen was very mild, as if someone had rinsed out some tofu with a bit of miso and called it broth. The garnish was haphazardly tossed in and the tonkotsu just seemed like thick sliced bacon. The takoyaki also severely lacked in octopus.

I can't say enough nice things about the downtown Dorinku. My girlfriend and I hit this place regularly for dinner, and the food is always great, service is always incredible, and atmosphere is my jam, with a unique mix of Asian music and hip-hop. It provides more of a fine dining experience compared t the Whyte Ave location, which I love. If you haven't checked it out yet, you're missing out on one of the best restaurants in all of Edmonton.

Reminded today why I don't go here despite being one of the few places near my office. always some kind of inconvenience. Do you want customers or not? I always leave here feeling put off.

Had the best experience with kayle, a great server and very friendly. She has great conversation, nothing like the awkward server type of conversation, which I am so thankful for. She’s very attentive and doesn’t rush. Always checking in to see if we were okay or the food was to our liking, which it was, obviously, the food taste better when there’s such good energy.
This was always my go to place for a good meal but the experience just keeps getting better. I highly recommend going out here!!!

Food is delicious and great vibe. The chicken karaage is a crowd favourite and comes with generously large pieces! Get the pressed sushi, the boat is perfect for 3-4 people. The Naminooto sake is so refreshing and easy to drink!

Restaurant was pretty quiet around 7:30 when we arrived. Throughout the entire time, the server didn’t check on us once except for taking our order and the bill.

All flash with the food. Over priced food. Some of the dishes were excellent, others were painfully average. What was worse, waitress forgot two dishes for our group and suggested we just forgot to order. Some old outdated showcase or cooler and furniture just tossed in the corner by our table. On top of the poor service, we were forced into an automatic 18% tip for bad service. Manager didn't seem to really care, they got their tip regardless of the service

20+ minutes from the time we sat down to someone coming over and it was not that busy. Other than dropping on food quickly, we were checked on maybe once. Food was decent but the service really took away from the experience

The vegan ramen was very flavorful! Great vibes in the space, too.

Pretty ballsy to set an 18% tip minimum by default for subpar service

… Or maybe have the 15% option in the first place. Quit being greedy please

Also… with your response, why feel so entitled? lol
