Ordered from El Afrik Lounge after work and was happy with my meal. The fish roll was crispy, and the jollof rice had just the right kick. Service was smooth, and the food still tasted great even after the drive home.

El Afrik Lounge has become one of my go-to spots for a quick lunch. The fried rice combo with turkey sauce was well-seasoned and satisfying. Staff were polite and got my order out quickly, even with a line. You can tell they care about consistency and quality.

Was the only customer standing at the front of the line waiting to order. The worker would answer 1 question and then ignore us for 3-5 minutes and repeat.
The menu is extremely confusing and not intuitive. For example, some dishes come with sides, but the part of the menu that says “sides” is not the sides included. Some of the main dishes are in the “sides” category (the red beef stew, for example). Very poorly laid out and confusing. Some dishes are only on weekends, but it is shown as part of the options in their buffet set up.
We simply left after 10 minutes of getting to ask 3 questions and mostly being ignored because the service was so horrendous.

I thoroughly enjoyed my combo meal (will feed me 4x!), traditional rice, goat, plantains and a drink. I especially appreciate the service and suggestions based on my dietary restrictions/preferences. I will definitely go back and try a smaller meal and already know what I want to try (white bean purée with a Scotch egg)!
