If you are going to Feature stew you should make enough to last longer than 1 pm when I was in. Very disappointing

Poor value here unfortunately. As others may have mentioned, the soup and sandwich combos aren't worth the price you pay. Especially when there are other local places that are double the amount for comparable or even lower prices. For 2 combos plus sodas our meal was almost $50. Just look at the sliver of roast beef on my 95% veggie sandwich and the 3oz shot glass of soup. This was an appetizer at best. Service was what you would expect at a subway, nothing stood out. Fifendekel just isn't what it used to be.

Terrible service . Old coffee and the pie was dry.
Never again.

2 full combos which consist of 2 cans of pop, 2 sandwiches, one soup and one salad, and 2 slices of pie. $50 bucks!! When the food tastes decent (minus the salad which had no flavour). Ok, so the lineup of people is out the door.. I am thinking what's the gimmick? The sandwiches piled high? What separates a cafe like this out from the competition?? and in our case, nothing. You could go to Donna's Eatery on the West End, pay less and get twice the amount of food. I cannot justify the price for the food here. For quality of food I did enjoy it but this quality I can get anywhere else. @Fifendekel for the price you charge, what separates you from the competition? Cause Firehouse subs or Subways around the corner for same quality. Nice atmosphere and decent flavoured food and nice staff.

The fresh sandwiches, soup and deserts, where could they go wrong.
Everything I have had I've throughly enjoyed.
We stop in at least every few months when our schedules align with open times.

We picked up some pies (first timers) for thanks giving. My whole family couldn't say enough praise for how good they were. Easily the best pie I have ever had. Get some for yourself and find out!!!

We came in about a week ago — it was around 11am for an early lunch. The board said the sandwich of the day was turkey (YAY), so I ordered a turkey sandwich and a soup… the bread wasn’t ready which is odd, so I had to get a bread I don’t like. Then we got to the till and paid, and as we walked to a table, I realized it was more than the price on the board. So I walked back to the till and said ‘excuse me, we got the special, but I think we were charged regular’ and she replied with a nasty attitude, ‘the special isn’t turkey today, it’s HAM!’ And I’m like, ‘okay, well the board says turkey…’ and she rudely replied, ‘well we haven’t changed the board yet!’ … sorry but not my issue, that should’ve been done before opening the door. Also, CRAZY to be rude to a customer over your mistake, instead of rectifying the mistake. On top of this, the soup was cold, not hot, not even warm…. cold like it just came out of the fridge. Also, there ended up being a hair in the second half of my sandwich that I had wrapped and saved until later that day. The half was wrapped separately in the store by an employee before being given to us at the till… anyways, I’ve always had good experiences at Fifendekel, and have been a regular with my family for years, as well as ordering catering for multiple businesses, so this was super disappointing and embarrassing because I brought a guest who’d never been before and I’d raved about it to them, all for this to be the experience.

I love the food here! I had a chicken salad sandwich and it was positively delicious. Not like other places where you get some sort of purée kind of chicken salad. And if course, the banana cream pie cannot be beat!

I really wasn't impressed, the sandwich had no flavor the veggies and meat was bland the soup was ok i wish they didn't serve it with a plastic spoon. The pie was honestly gross. It's really popular don't really know why..
