I unfortunately got food poisoning from the chicken sandwich at Food in the Nud. I am very disappointed as I enjoyed supporting this local business, but now I do not feel safe nor trust their food safety practices.

So over in Ritchie between The Blue Chair & Party Donut is FOOD IN THE NUD. Pay attention to the name. It’s a small little bakery but a seriously important bakery. If you are celiac or have gluten issues and you’re looking for foods you can eat. EAT THEIR AMAZING PRODUCTS. So I’m neither but I have friends who are and I won’t avoid these food. They have healthy sweets like muffin, bars, cup cakes and a whole range of frozen foods. Are you struggling to find good choices. Plus if I heard correctly they use no refined sugar. Which helps a diabetic. This is the place. I had a chocolate cherry bomb cupcake yesterday and it was amazing as was the chocolate raspberry sandwich and the loaf of sesame bread which is healthy and exactly what I as a diabetic needs. It has seeds and is made with millet. It was delicious , also it freezes well. Food in the Nud is smslll and you might miss it if you didn’t know it was there but it has great neighbours so you cannot miss it, it’s right between them. I’d say this might offer a healthier option than a donut or French pastries. The staff are friendly and helpful. So the end of the review is try this. All I can say is I’m impressed. The food is truly clean and it doesn’t have all those additives that harm our bodies. It’s perfect for someone like me and if I was closer I think I’d visit every day. The kitchen is so so clean and same with the overall space. Highly recommend you stop in!

Incredible gluten free (and often vegan) breads and sweets. The sourdough bread was incredible toasted with peanut butter. The tigernut cookie was a crunchy treat. And the chocolate raspberry Sammie was incredible. We came back a second time in our trip for bread to take to Jasper. So grateful to have found Food in the Nud!

One of the things that really stands out to me is the consistency of the staff — it’s so refreshing to see familiar faces every time I go in. There doesn’t seem to be high turnover, which says a lot about the environment there. Whether I pop in regularly or haven’t been by in a few months, I always feel remembered and genuinely welcomed. That kind of personal connection makes such a difference. Highly recommend supporting this awesome local spot.

I recently had lunch at Food in the Nud. Tasty sandwiches and coffee! I also preordered a chocolate birthday cake which exceeded my expectations in every possible way! It was the best cake I've ever eaten in my life. Every single guest at the party was amazed and delighted! I will be buying my cakes here from now on!

We ordered cupcakes and an 8 inch vanilla cake with chocolate icing on the inside. The cake and the cupcakes were stunning. Gluten free cakes/deserts aren't typically a favorite for those that don't have the dietary restrictions but everyone really enjoyed them!
