It’s a hidden gem in Whyte Ave! Nice ambiance, very good staff and food is authentic! We ordered takoyaki, Oyakudon, Tonkatsu set and shrimp tempura. We’ll definitely come back for the special rolls ?

Hidden gem on Whyte Ave:). I love this place. It's been a fixture of the community for years and there's a reason for that. Family run, very attentive, and the food/effort put into it is just amazing. In a world of fast paced restaurants I'm very happy that Furosato is still around on this street, as the food, charm, friendliness are second to none. Thank you for making every experience feel like home:)

This restaurant has easily become one of my favorites on Whyte Ave. The atmosphere inside is amazing, with traditional Japanese paintings, geisha dolls, and Japanese instrumental music playing. The food is amazing. The flavours are balanced, and the plating is simple yet elevated. Some recommendations for me include the takoyaki, as well as the dragon eye roll. The tempura is a classic choice, and it's very good. All the portion sizes are large, and the prices are very reasonable. I frequently order extra here to make sure that I can take leftovers home!I am so glad I discovered this restaurant, and I hope to visit many more times!

Best Japanese in Edmonton easily. Not to mention the staff are some of the kindest people you will ever meet. I love Furusato and visit every time I am in Edmonton; at least once.

Can't say enough. Small, non-assuming, excellence! Must try Alaska Black Cod... you will be hooked as I have been for 20 years.

A true hidden jem of a Japanese restaurant in Edmonton at an affordable price point. From the outside, it does not seem much, but inside is similar to a typical family-owned Japanese restaurant. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is calm. More importantly, the foods are amazing and authentic Japanese. We love the tonkatsu, katsudon and yakisoba. Everything we tried so far is spot on, yum!

This place is next to my brother's place and we have gone there consistently for the best sushi on Whyte. The servers was so kind, attentive and hard working. I highly recommend the spider roll and the I Love You roll. They are the specialty rolls at the back of the menu and they are for sure the best bang for your buck!

Staff were very friendly and welcoming even though it was just a pick up order. The decor was cozy but could use better ventilation as it smelled strongly of frying oil. They were timely with the order but to my disappointment the sushi was difficult to finish. Made myself eat half of it but had to stop - rice was overly dense and fish tasted stale. I may even prefer grocery store sushi... Hope they can improve on the food taste/quality

Unfortunately not that great. Spicy salmon roll had very little if any salmon in it. Looked like avocado roll with red smear on it. Usually there is a large piece of salmon in a roll like this. Rolls had no structure and fell apart, despite fairly heavy-handed rice application. Mackerel roll was not good, had to toss. Service excellent but won’t be back.

The food quality has significantly declined compared to my previous visit. Everything was excessively salty, and the ingredients lacked freshness. On the positive side, the service was good.
