The absolutely worst Chinese food ever.

It tastes like water.

Zero flavour.

They should be ashamed of themselves.

Gross. Hairy. Overpriced. Disgusting.

We had take out last time. And the food was horrible
We asked to pan fry the noodles. So its more crispy, but it was never done. The deep fried squid, had close to no seasoning on it. And the other dishes we got had very little seasoning, stuff that was supposed to be golden brown. Came out as pale white

This time we ordered again
The main dishes were great but the side dish, which was salt and pepper deep fried squid. Some of them tasted very salty. Maybe because there was a salt clump stuck on some of the squid. The squid was chewy and dry, it felt like the squid was left for a few days and refried

We have been eating here for more than 10 years and it feels like its getting worse and worse.

Food was good. But service ruined it. We (2 people) went 2 weeks ago to dine in, and they charged us the tip automatically. I thought maybe it was because we ordered 3 items which is still unacceptable but whatever. Then today we went again and ordered our usual 2 items, still got charged the tip automatically. I even tried to pay at the front, they declined to try and justify the tip. I wouldn’t be this upset if the service justified the tip. Wouldn’t even give a dollar for the service, horrible.

Very rude and insulting. Walked in the door on Nov.28 and the first thing I hear from the lady at the cash register was a loud comment (behind my back while talking to herself) about my physical appearance. They didn't know I understood canto since we spoke English.

This is not how you treat a customer. We are not familiar with each other. It was not joking around when speaking to each other face to face. This was disrespect.

We have been coming here for a long time. Since they first opened actually. The food is very good. They just introduced a Dim Sum menu that is offered daily. My favorite Hot and Sour 🍲 soup is made here. No one in the City or any where I have traveled for that matter has made Hot and Sour 🍲 soup as well as Good Buddy at this location ❤️ Recently I have noticed a BIG improvement in service, portions and, quality of food. I have to say Good Buddy south is my “go to” spot for Chinese food. Thank you 🙏 for a wonderful experience ❤️❤️❤️and great food ❤️❤️❤️

Ordered dinner for 6 , got 5 dishes , last dish came when we were done,, tried to return and wouldn’t take back, food wasn’t very good , spring rolls were cold and servers were rude , will never go back !!!

I'm giving Good Buddy a 5* rating because they fully satisfied my expectations for truly authentic traditional Chinese food. We ordered a number of dim sum items as appetizers, fried rice, fried noodles, beef tenderloin, and a steamed fish. Portions were generous, well prepared and you could taste the high quality of the ingredients. Service was attentive and easy to flag down when needed. Excellent value pricing to top things off.

I used to come here a lot as a kid, it' your typical westernized chinese restaurant. The set family meals are worth it. There was 5 of us but we got the good for 8 people set and it was $209 before tax, we wanted extras for food throughout the week and it was honestly wayyy more food than we anticipated.

The server started talking over us while we were praying which we thought was kind of rude, but its whatever.

Overall, nothing too special but we go here for the nostalgia.

I come all the time 3-4 times a month. Sometimes even more because it’s close to my work and they close at 10 o’clock. I can still come for a late dinner after 9 o’clock when I get off from work.

Servers are nice and they always friendly and pleasant taking care of the neighborhood. That’s why I like to come here.

Company’s gathering, large portion for the money you paid for.

Sometime I come alone and having their salty chicken rice it’s only less than $15 that same price as burger combo why not eating healthy food here.

My order on September 28-2025 from 9:30Pm chicken shrimp fried rice they give me different food that makes me sick I don’t want others to become since stop paying food this restaurant as already reported law enforcement

I suggest you did not buy food any from this place

Food was oily and sad, price was okay however it will be at the expense of getting yelled at just for asking how big the containers are. Maybe don't yell at your customers and walk away? Will take my money somewhere else from now on.

I have been going to this restaurant a lot with my family. But two nights ago me and my friends went there to celebrate a birthday. We had to leave after having their corn soup. Not because it was bad. The service was very bad. The server sounded very irate and very rude when taking our order. We listed down the items we want since we were told we can not order the set menu because we ordered a separate soup. She said No! You can’t do that! I responded by saying how much is the soup? We will pay for it and we will eat somewhere else because you are very rude. We paid for the soup informed the people at the front that were leaving because the server is rude. Had dinner at Boston Pizza instead where the staff were a lot friendlier and corteous.
