The food at Guru Kitchen & Bar was good and well-prepared, with nice flavors and presentation. The service was okay—nothing particularly memorable, but acceptable overall. However, the prices felt on the higher side for the overall experience, especially considering the level of service. It’s a decent place for the food, but the value for money could be better.

First time I saw racism by an Indian guy to an Indian guy. The new management is very poor. Manish (the manager) was very unprofessional when we asked if they have Indian tea, he asked “do you only want tea or you will be ordering more?” And how he behaved with us and others, I never faced such unprofessionalism in any restaurant neither in India nor in Canada. Want to give negative stars but can only give 1. This was my go to place last year but I am never going to this place again.

After being at the other location multiple times and loving it, the downtown location was such a disappointment. We were served raw salmon and then all the dishes came out except for one person’s. We were told it would just be a “couple minutes” but it ended up being 20 minutes before the dish was brought out so it couldn’t even be enjoyed while everyone else was eating and had to be quickly eaten before we had to leave because it took so long. Extremely disappointing considering the price of everything. We wanted a nice evening to celebrate a birthday before an event at Roger’s Place and ended up being rushed and incredibly disappointed.

Very bad experience!! Didn’t expect that. We phoned before to book the table and asked them we are going to be for birthday dinner and want our experience great but unfortunately we have a bad luck. First- the service is worst. We ordered the food and no one came to check if we need anything more! We have to leave the table and gave the order at front, they had big reservation on another table and they are focusing on them. Wanted some Vinegar onion and gave us Salad. We paid for stuff we didn’t even eat.
I gave the small cake at front with candles so they can bring on table but they didn’t do that.
Server said you had a cake and we inform them we want in a plate. They gave us cake when we were leaving! I think management has been changed and now they are not doing good.
Very bad experience didn’t recommend people this Reastraunt for special occasionsZ there is a lot more indian restaurants in the south side ! Much better than this one even the price of the food !

What an amazing evening!! First off we were so impressed with the kindness and hospitality we received. We were celebrating my sister's birthday and asked if we could do the tasting menu, not realizing that it is usually done with 4 or more people. They were so accommodating and graciously accepted our request. The restaurant was very welcoming and quiet, our server, sorry I can't remember her name was so sweet and caring and considerate. She was very attentive to our needs and explained all of the dishes that were served. The food!!! OMG !! Fantastic!!! It was beautifully played exquisite taste and large portions especially the main course. We ended up having leftovers.. thank you for the beautiful evening and excellent experience at your restaurant! I was especially grateful for you bringing out the dessert with a candle on top of the cake. I highly recommend this restaurant for everyone ❤️❤️❤️

Guru Downtown, nestled in the heart of Edmonton's downtown, offers an ideal setting for a brief meeting or a quick lunch. The attentive and prompt server ensured that our needs were met without being intrusive. While there was a minor hiccup with our orders being mixed up with another table, the overall experience was satisfactory. The food was well-prepared and presented beautifully. I'm definitely planning to return.
At the end of my first trip to Edmonton, visited here and had a decent meal :) I didn't realize the restaurant closed at 10, but they kindly accepted us and never made us a feel rush!

I am very disappointed with my experience at Guru. Personally think the food is decent but the staff made me feel very uncomfortable from the waitress Elizabeth while she was serving my family I couldn’t help but notice a strong marijuana smell coming from her everytime she would come by. For it being such a nice restaurant I couldn’t believe it myself very unprofessional . I really hope this restaurant succeeds and get rid and hire new staff that respect the work place.

Great fusion Indian food, tasted very flavourful, lovely presentation. Very modern interior and feels like a new place! Service is excellent.
