My fav spot for the best korean, this location in particular. Have only gotten takeaway/ delivery, as their closing hours r not too far off from the time I'm off work.
Picked up takeaway today, and I unfortunately did not get their name (they had visible arm tattoos, I believe that they had an eyebrow piercing, and we chatted about bleaching eyebrows!!), but just wanted to give one of the staff member their flowers. While I often find particular interactions tricky/ overstimulating (especially while waiting for a takeway to be packed up hahahha), they were so lovely and attentive!!
As always, am so so pleased with the consistent food and service :-)
Dalina was great
I've always wanted to go to Hanjan but never had the time to visit for months. Now the stars had finally aligned and we came here right after an Oiler's watchparty. We arrived right before other people filled up the place so it was a little busy. I'm surprised at how much space and seating they have. At first I just saw 4 person tables but they led us to the other area where they had large tables for bigger parties. We had 9 people in our party and they seated us immediately.
My boyfriend and I split the Bulgogi Fries and the Padak (Soy Garlic) Korean Fried Chicken. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. After one bite of the Bulgogi Fries, it was an immediate 10/10. The fries were crispy and had the perfect golden crisp + soft inside ratio. And don't even get me started with the sauce on top. The white sauce was light, and had the perfect combination of slightly sweet and savory. It was a wonderful aioli. And the veggies added were so good. The tomatoes and scallions added a nice freshness and slight acidity to the overall dish. Lastly the bulgogi was just *chef's kiss*. I don't really know how else to explain it other than the Bulgogi Fries were a well-balanced dish. We were scooping every single missed vegetable in the sauce after we demolished the fries.
The Padak (Soy Garlic) fried chicken was so tasty. Whenever I get wings, my go-to is pretty much anything soy garlic, or anything included garlic. The fried chicken skin was the best part. Great texture, crunchy, crispy, wonderful flavor. It was a great blend of savory, umami, and garlic. And the green onions on top was a great addition. Portion size for both things we ordered was perfect for the two of us.
Also, don't even get me started on the banchans. Great kimchi, radish kimchi was so refreshing, and that mashed potato side? Terrific. We asked for more banchan when we were done.
Lastly, we came back the very next day to try the desserts. At first, I wanted to pick one dessert to share between me and my boyfriend but it was so difficult to choose one. So we got both lol. We ordered the Injeolmie Waffle, Honey Butter Bread, and tried some of my cousin's Strawberry Bingsu.
The Injeolmi Waffle itself was delicious, sweet but not too sweet. The ice cream added that sweetness and the almonds on top were nice. And the Honey Butter Bread? Wow. The milk bread and the fresh whipped cream were fluffy, light, and not too sweet.
I would go back again in a heartbeat. If I was in the neighborhood, I would be a regular. And when I give a place 5 stars, 5 stars to me means: take my money and I might dangerously spend too much of my paycheck here. Which is what I did, but no regrets. I will not stop talking about this place. 10's all across the board for me! Love you Hanjan.
Food has been amazing but the samguypsal gojuchang doesn't taste as good as it used to be and quality has been going down every time we order. Service is still superb but just want to leave this rating for the management's awareness since we really love this place
First time having Korean food. It was tasty Mmmmmm would come back :)
Cheese corn was good too I’d recommend that
The vibe and service here is immaculate! The servers are always so professional and always know what they are doing (and are super beautiful and hard-working too!) The food is pretty alright and best to come in a large group since it’s open a bit later. You simply MUST dine-in!
Good Korean food. Even have bingsu!!
My bestie took me out for my birthday lunch at HANJAN Oliver today and it did not disappoint! I love this location — parking is super convenient (just behind the restaurant, in what used to be the old Gas Pump Bar lot). The decor is beautiful, especially the big statement tree in the middle of the dining area — such a cool atmosphere.
The menu is one of my faves in the city — so many great options. We didn’t go as all-out as we usually do when we come here, but everything was still amazing! My friend had the pork belly (a go-to!) and I had the classic bibimbap — you can never go wrong with those staples. We also split the green onion pancake as an appie, and were pleasantly surprised to find some seafood in there (hello, tentacles 👀😂).
Clarissa C. was our server and she was absolutely phenomenal. Super friendly, attentive, and made us feel really special. 10/10 would request her again!
Highly recommend — whether it’s for a birthday, date night, or just a casual lunch. HANJAN never misses. 🙌
First time ordering here and honestly, never again. I was worried the portions would be stingy, so instead of doing half-half like most Korean chicken places offer, I ordered two full dishes. Big mistake.
This place is a total rip-off. Not only are the prices ridiculous, but the portions are a joke. I got boneless Korean fried chicken in two separate flavors — Yangnyeom and Soy Garlic — and paid an extra $2.30 per flavor. You’d think for that price, they’d at least give a decent amount. Nope.
What we got was pathetic. No sides at all — not even the usual tiny pickled radish every decent Korean chicken spot gives for free. And the chicken? Tiny, dry pieces the size of my thumb. Barely any in the box.
I dropped over $50 with tip for this garbage, and it wasn’t even close to worth it. Total scam. Don’t waste your time or money here — this restaurant is trash.
Food is great and very friendly staff. Good ambiance. Will definitely come back for more.

If you cant eat salty food don't waste money coming here. Everything with meat is extremely salty, not sure if it is for preserving the meat longer or make you order some drinks. Hannan South is not like this
