Holiday Inn Express & Suites Edmonton South by IHG

I would like to thank the staff Jerilee and Harleen for the wonderful experience we had after a tough day at the cancer clinic. These ladies made the stay here wonderful. Rooms were very clean. We will definitely be back.

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn at 2440 Calgary Trail NW, Edmonton, and I want to express my sincere gratitude for the exceptional care and service provided by Abi, one of the chefs at the hotel. As vegetarians who also avoid eggs, we often struggle to find meals that meet our dietary needs, especially options that are not cross-contaminated.

Abi went above and beyond to understand our requirements and personally prepared vegetarian meals just for us. His kindness, thoughtfulness, and attention to detail made a huge difference in our stay. It’s rare to find such genuine consideration in hospitality, and we are incredibly thankful for his support.

Thank you, Abi, and thank you to Holiday Inn for having such dedicated and compassionate staff. Highly recommend for anyone with dietary restrictions looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay

The entire team went above and beyond. From friendly and helpful front desk staff to room attendants. Our room was spotless and incredibly comfortable, and the amenities were top-notch.

The breakfast buffet was excellent and offered a wonderful variety, and the service in the was exceptional. Thank you to Abi and the rest of your staff.

Room was clean and they cleaned throughout the day without disturbing any of my belongings.

For some reason the blinds don't cover the entire window - there is like an inch or more on each side that lets in light.

Stayed here for three nights. Would not recommend. Free breakfast is ample and well presented. The rooms and beds are fine, but the customer service is not very good. The folks working here are kind and trying their best, but the place seems poorly managed. You experience cost cutting measures, for instance, needing to ask multiple times to have a room cleaned. Do not assume it will be freshened if you don’t ask… then, after asking twice we learned at 5pm that the cleaning staff had already left for the day.

But, the worst part is that this non-smoking hotel has its designated smoking areas in front of entry doors and hallway windows that are left open. The result is that the hallways and rooms are flooded with cigarette smoke. It’s disgusting. I realize that this is mostly a patron problem, but the hotel can improve this design by disallowing smoking where airflow enters the hotel. We left with our clothes smelling like cigarette smoke. Gross.

I can appreciate they tried to renovate the hotel and probably much better from what it was, but there is still a long ways to go. Not like the other new holiday inn express hotels and those renovated. You can see within the rooms, the workmanship isn’t great, but overall is a decent room. The hallways and main area on the main floor is very dark and gloomy.

Breakfast is like every IHG continental breakfast, it’s nothing special but it does the job.

Snacks, drinks could definitely be much better, but expecting this is due to maybe not being the busiest hotel!

Overall, it does the job, but I believe there are many other mid range hotels that are better within the city!

Internet was very slow! It’s possible the office that I had in the hotel room was in a bad spot.

I’m a platinum elite with IHG and titanium elite with Marriott, so travel quite a bit!
