The OGs of Philly Cheesesteak in YEG! The bun to meat ratio is always on point. Our cheesesteaks were loaded with meat! Many seasonings and sauces to choose from. Great customer service as well!

I’ve figured out why there are mixed reviews. I’ve been coming here for 20 years and no Philly comes close - depending on who’s making it. There is two guys and two girls working here. For some reason with the guys the phillys are outstanding. So much meat and sauce I can’t close the bun. The girls make it with very little meat and sauce you can close the bun like a sandwich. Do yourself a favour and visit this place but call ahead and see who’s working there. I will be definitely doing this going forward. Would’ve been 5 stars but it’s a hit and miss. I’ve attached two pictures. One from the guys - packed with meat and sauce and one from the girls - not even close. The ladies have excellent customer service. Just show them not to skimp on the ingredients.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Hot Philly, located at 9604 165 Ave NW in Edmonton, and I must say—it was a delightful surprise. From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us with genuine warmth and hospitality, setting the tone for a great experience.
The menu offers a wide selection, but the standout was undoubtedly the Philly cheesesteak. Perfectly seasoned, loaded with tender meat, and topped with just the right amount of melted cheese, it struck an ideal balance between indulgent and satisfying. This sandwich alone is worth the visit.
We also sampled the poutine, which featured crisp, coated French fries smothered in rich, flavorful gravy. What stood out was the way the gravy was layered throughout, ensuring every bite was saucy and delicious—an uncommon but welcome touch.
Beyond the food, the nostalgic decor adds to the charm. Walls adorned with classic movie posters gave the place a fun, throwback vibe that brought a smile to my face.
Overall, Hot Philly impressed me not only with its food quality but also with the attentiveness of the staff. It’s clear the team takes pride in their work. I look forward to returning and highly recommend it to anyone in the mood for a hearty, well-made meal. Keep up the great work, Hot Philly! I would give this place an 8.5/10 on the munch meter.

Tried Hot Philly in Edmonton today with my father and it did not disappoint. I had the chicken burger and deep-fried mac n’ cheese, both were insanely good. The chicken was flavourful with the bacon being crispy. The mac n’ cheese was perfectly crunchy on the outside and creamy inside. Recommending this place to everyone, definitely a must! Lastly the owner was just the most wonderful human being to deal/talk to, he spoke to us as if we were family best customers service i’ve had in months. His employee Donald is the gordon ramsey of Hot philly, definitely an impeccable cook!
