We came in as part of a group of 17 for a celebration. Our server Zachary was amazing and made our night! He was organized, knowledgeable and a ton of fun. Food was great and came out super fast, we got a sake lesson and I got the weirdest surprise in the bathroom when I realized the toilets have heated seats and bidets built in 😆

Hi Isaac and management team. After a visit in March 2025, I’m sad to report that Dorinku Tokyo is no longer the gem it once was. The Japanese (Matsubaras) and their spirited ways have left the building, and what remains is a hollow imitation of its former self. For nearly a decade, this place served the best Japanese comfort food outside of Japan—but those days are over.
On our recent visit, the once-rich, savoury broth that accompanied the tuna tataki had been replaced with Kewpie's Creamy Deep Roasted Sesame Dressing. Yes, it's tasty—at our house we jokingly call it “phonebook sauce” because it could make even a shredded phone book appetizing. But to use it here is lazy, uninspired, and completely unworthy of the dish and the price inflicted.
Worse still, the agedashi tofu came swimming in what amounted to plain soy sauce, stripped of the delicate mirin-rich broth it once featured. It's not just a cost-cutting corner; it's a betrayal of both the dish and the loyal clientele that kept coming back for the real thing.
Dorinku Tokyo used to be our go-to for celebrations and special gatherings. Now? Don't expect us to be darkening those once-fabled doors any time soon. RIP.

We came here for my son's birthday celebration. From the moment you walk in, you are sweetly welcomed. The food was as amazing as the customer service from Sora. She was so accommodating and kind. Thank you for the dessert for his birthday. He loved it.
