Good service, tasty food. Feels like there used to be a bit more showmanship as I haven’t been back in about five years… use to attend more often when I lived in the city. Still overall would recommend.
Not like it used to be..no fire show..prices are more guy we had cook for us was just ok..hard to understand and didn't do much .for the money prob won't go back. Beef got over cooked bit on the tough side ..chicken was way better ..need more variety for veggies as
My friends and I went for someone's birthday, and we loved it. We knew we would be paying a bit more for the meal we were getting, but in my opinion, it was worth it. Love the staff here so so so much. We left full of food and happy. We will be coming back!
Amazing good tasting food, nice staff! Totally recommend
Was disappointed with what we were expecting. The chef cooking the food did a great job, but the room was uncomfortably cold. The steak was more gristle than steak. The lobster was overcooked and rubbery. We will not be returning.
I've been coming here for 15 years and have never been disappointed. The Food was fantastic the chef was amazing and the serving staff was on the ball ?? its 1 of my favorite places to eat in Edmonton.
Very overpriced for what you get. Chef forget one order of shrimp and then one order of salmon. There was no unique techniques done during cooking or any cool tricks besides two flips at the start. Food is tasty but way overpriced for what you really get. Better off going to Edo and you’ll save lots of money.
Been a while since I've been to Japanese village and it did not disappoint! It was so tasty and so filling. It was more expensive than what I remember, but what isn't anymore. I had the steak and shrimp.
They dont have scallops in the menu but the steak was really good! Wanted to try the A5 wagyu but 5oz for 85 bucks seems like id still be hungry. Maybe next time!
Such a good experience! Food is amazing and so fun to have them cook right in front of you! Excellent service.

All good. Busy place, food and chef giving his small show were good. I’m sure with more customer participation they could be better. But I can’t knock it. Everything was tasty and cooked fine. Little pricey but I would come back
What happened Japanese Village? I just moved back to Edmonton and wanted to go back to an old favorite. The ambiance of this new downtown location is beyond bad!!! It's a cement box, zero ambiance, nothing Japanese about it. The entertainment was ridiculous...I can bang metal implements and flip utencils more creatively. The food was ok, not fabulous like before; the service was ok, however I felt like it was "bring them in, get them out" kind of service. My friend wanted dessert and was told green tea was their dessert??? Your OLD location had at least a Japanese feel and ambiance that was interesting, exciting and something different. This location needs some serious improvements. There are so many fabulous restaurants in Edmonton that I'll be making this a hard pass and taking my money elsewhere....so very disappointed!!! Japanese Village, quit relying on your old reputation, make some effort and step up your game!!!
You really can’t go wrong here, all of the sauces are amazing and all of the dishes are top notch. A really great place for a date night or even a family outing. Very friendly service and accommodating. I’ve never had a bad experience here.
We accidentally ended up here for dinner while looking for sushi and ended up extremely happy with our evening. The food was fantastic. The service was excellent. And we were entertained while we waited for our food. Would definitely recommend!!
We are familiar with The Japanese Village franchise and expected the same experience as the past. This downtown location was new to us . We went with family form of town. The service was very slow, the show itself was lack lustre, the meat was not good quality and the meals were ok. The interior could use a full renovation. For $300 for 4, we could have done better elsewhere. Won’t be back.
