What a memorable birthday party I attended. Our Chef was very entertaining and quite experienced... she made the cooking of the food exciting. The atmosphere was pleasant and comfortable. My family and I recently visited WEM from Vancouver during Spring Break and it was our first meal off the plane and I have to say that we were not impressed. The restaurant itself was very nice and clean and our server as well as our personal chef were great (albeit a little cheezy in his performance). However, the food was AWFUL. The miso sauce was just terrible and all the other sauces were lack luster. They added some sort of green butter to my steak which wasn't terrible, but it definitely needed salt or more flavoring. I also wish they had a proper kids menu or better options for them. A definite nope from me.

Kid-friendliness: The food was very good… the Chef was amazing! But the waitress was so bad, her attitude was so mean and desperate. I felt so rush all the time for her. At the end she gave my bill with out ask the bill. She seems and answer very mad every time that I ask for something. And all the time needed look for her. She wasn’t present.The place it’s good for celebrating and kids.I went to Edmonton West mall.

By far my best visit to Japanese Village! First time at WEM location.Chef Krishna was very entertaining, friendly and fun! Fabulous chef!Server Janet gave impeccable service! We didn't want for anything. She was very attentive and hospitable! So kind.Greeters at the door were friendly too! All-around perfect lunch visit! It was my friend's first time at JV and she was so very impressed by the whole experience.Steak/shrimp, beef teriyaki, chicken teriyaki - all teppanyaki style were all done to perfection! Their Teppanyaki experience is dinner and a show in one! Thank you all for making this a perfect experience for us. ❤Dietary restrictions: We had none. But we were asked immediately at ordering if we had any restrictions.Kid-friendliness: We had people with children at our table. Chef Krishna entertained them very well. Very kid-friendly!

West Edmonton Mall location kind of a drag because they've taken out the fiery portion of the culinary acrobatics (due to a fire alarm incident a short time ago lol) Service was stellar and our hosts Marvy and Chef Jackie No-Chan brought their best attention to our table. GFood is always passable and prices always a bit steep but that's part of the JV mystique. A great birthday night for me. Thank you JV. ?

Came here with 2 nephews - they loved the cooking show BUT I thought the cooking show was super short and the chef was very stone-faced and did not appear very friendly to the kids. Non-alcoholic chi chi was fun and in a huge glass. Virgin Peachy Ichiban was pretty good. Assorted tempura was great. 9/10. Soup I knew I would not like as is my preference. Salad was fine but I wasn't a fan of the dressing - next time I'll say dressing on the side. Side of rice was nice. Loved the sauces that came with the meal. We ordered a vaiety of meats and then got him to divvy it up so we could try everything. Teriyaki beef - 9/10 good. Chicken Teriyaki - 8/10 we got sick of teriyaki flavor, very strong flavor. Salmon teriyaki - 8/10 we got sick of teriyaki flavor, very strong flavor. Yaki Yaki shrimp - we got to try the shrimp with and without sauce - DID NOT like the sauce but shrimp was very nicely cooked. Vegetables (assorted) grilled. 10/10 loved the varitey and well cooked.
