Had a birthday dinner for my girlfriend, first time I’ve ever been. Food was great, service was great, and had zero complaints. The layout/atmosphere could be better but we are grateful and had a great time! Thank you!

It was a very good experience having meals in the restaurant, food are very delicious, I really like the mix and match Bento, too bad they only have it in the afternoon. Another thing I like to mention is that their customers service is excellent, we have Wing serving us today, I am giving her four thumbs.,👍👍👍👍

Honestly a disappointing experience. 80 dollars and it was no better than 40. Ordered 3 rolls and 12 piece assorted sashimi. The sashimi was the worst part and I wouldn't suggest ordering it. They cop out on 6 pieces and give garbage. 3 pieces were octopus and it was literally chewing on rubber. The other 3 I don't know what it was but it was rubbery and super greasey. Tuna and salmon were the other 6. The tuna was actually decent but the salmon was mediocre. I've had better salmon sashimi at T&T and that's sad. New style roll was ok but over priced. Bakudan roll is ok but most of the rolls fell apart and there was too much tempura. Rainbow roll was the only good one and I had no complaints with it. I've had comparable sushi at Sushi Shop and it's half the price. This is unacceptable for a higher end restaurant. Would recommend this restaurant at all. Hopefully the in dining experience is better.

Very nice restaurant, came here with my girlfriend the other day and was pleasantly surprised. Great food. My gf ordered a salmon sushi thing which she really enjoyed. I ordered a Spicy Yaki Udon thing and it was so good. Spice level was also accurate to what I ordered. Would come again.

I was here with a bigger group for my mom’s birthday. I have been here a couple of time before and was excited since it was good. I’m not sure what has changed, or if it was just short staffed, but it was a totally different experience. We got there for opening, so it wasn’t busy at all. It was slow for anyone to come over. When someone did, it wasn’t pleasant. The last couple of time my wife and I were there, the server was very nice and greeted us and took time to explain the specials and was prompt to check on us to see if we were good. There was none of that this time. It was frustrating, especially since one of the orders was missed and it came late. What really bothered me, that there was no apology for the meal being delayed. Even if they were short staffed, there were things in their control they could have done to make it better. No one came to offer any explanation for the slow service or communicating when they expect the food to come out. We got there at 11:30 and were left 2 hours later. We even asked for the bill since we wanted to leave. My sister actually had to find someone since she had to go. It still took so long to get the bills. They then gave us the bill and pointed out that we had to choose the 18% tip option since we were a large group which I understood. But I didn’t realize it was already automatically added. So I ended up tipping on top of that! I was in a hurry to leave and didn’t realize until after. My sister and I also had a word with the manager and he didn’t seem to care at all. He just nodded his head and didn’t say anything. There were no apologies. I did feel bad for our server. She did mention she was new. I just feel management could have done things to make us feel better. I understand if a restaurant is short staffed and it’s out of their control. If they told me that and just asked us to be patient, and they’re doing their best to get it out, that would have been enough. Just leaving is there wondering what’s happening is not acceptable. I hope this review helps for those excited to go here. The food is good, but a place like this should have the service to match.

Went in for my mother's birthday. We were a large party, and our reservation was for lunch so they had just opened... it appeared they were short staffed, and our service was almost non-existent. One of our main orders was missed, so most of us had pretty much finished our meals by the time the last order came out.
When I expressed my disappointment to the manager he did not seem to empathize at all. He merely said the server was new.
The food was okay, but definitely not worth it for the experience. Left extremely upset and dissatisfied. Will not be going here again.

Sashimi was great, anything main coarse was awesome. brussel sprouts with curry were too large of a portion and the curry didn't add anything positive. Shrimp tempura had too much sauce and tasted like mayo more than shrimp. The drink I had was decent. Felt like something was missing.

Great experience, service, and atmosphere. My only complaint is we ordered the prairie fire roll thinking we were avoiding mushrooms, because it states just vegetables. Unfortunately mushrooms were a main ingredient. Luckily I'm not allergic, they're just nasty. Hopefully they change the menu and list all the veggies in the roll.

Great service, beautiful and clean interior. We went on NYE for a dinner. seen us and sat us on short notice. Dim lighting with over table lights gives you a perfect sense of privacy. Food could've been better for the price. The sashimi had beautiful presentation, the Rolls weren't great to look at and tasted below par. Oh.. and the soy sauce was phenomenal.

I requested online for a quiet booth and they were able to accommodate.
But I also mentioned on my reservation that it was for my birthday celebration but nothing was done or acknowledged …no happy birthday wish either from anyone…which is a bit disappointing.
So while normally I would give 4 or 5 out of 5…for

The food was excellent, and the presentation was outstanding. However, I was disappointed by the lack of communication regarding a time limit for our table. At no point during the reservation process were we informed that there would be a restriction on our dining time. After 1 hour and 55 minutes, the manager came to ask us to leave for another reservation, just as we were about to order dessert. This was frustrating, as it disrupted our experience. Going forward, I believe it’s important for guests to be informed of such time constraints at the time of booking

I’ve been to Japonais in Windermere Edmonton a few times now since they opened. Their quality seemed slightly worse than the downtown location and compared to a couple of other places in Edmonton. Namely, the sashimi cuts seemed slightly off every time (worse cut of fish, knife skill: not straight cut), dishes that have too much sauce which slightly overwhelmed the ingredients, and service was barely average (one check in on how the meal was throughout the entire dining experience on most occasions). However, they are one of the few good Japanese restaurants in Southwest Edmonton, especially around the Riverbend/Windermere area, so I’d give it 8.3/10. Items worth trying, when considering the price, include their bento and short ribs.
We came an hour before the closing time, but we waited for about 20 mins, since there was no one at the entrance, and when someone showed up we were told that their kitchen was closed. We would appreciate if we were told right away instead of waiting all this time.
