All of their desserts and pastries I’ve tried so far are wonderful. Who doesn’t love a Butter pecan tart? But The Jalapeño Pull Aparts are at the top of my list.
Although their physical location is temporarily closed, King of Tarts has a stand at the Old Strathcona Farmer's Market on Saturdays and at the 124 Grand Market on Sundays. All their treats are vegan! The Biscoff croissant ($6) was delicious - it was crispy on the outside but soft on the inside, covered and stuffed with Biscoff. I loved their Biscoff Nanaimo bar ($5.50) too, especially the THICK custard cream which had a great flavour and consistency. Updated from previous review on 2024-07-20

All their pastries are vegan! The Biscoff croissant ($6) was delicious - it was crispy on the outside but soft on the inside, covered and stuffed with Biscoff. A bit on the pricey side but it's worth the treat. I'd love to try their other creations too - their Nanaimo bars looked awesome!

Delicious!! Especially really loved the key lime tarts.
Pumpkin Tarts are en pointe and the Lemon Meringue are puckery good. 👍
***March 2024 temporarily closed due to flooding** Has goods for sale at Strathcona Market or order online through the website***. So great to see someone move from a market stall to a bricks and mortar cafe! The cafe is on the back of a strip mall on Stony Plain Road that houses Revolution Cycle. It’s kind of at the back of the strip, facing the parking lot. The cafe itself is larger than I expected, with lots of tables and a nice gas fireplace. They serve many of their classics, such as filled croissants, and tarts, but are constantly experimenting with new items. Novembers offerings included a fantastic chocolate pie, tiger meringue cookies, and excellent Ube brownies. They serve drinks including coffee with both dairy milk and non dairy milk, and have recently added some savoury items like sandwiches, soup and chilli. They have a separate case of gluten free items. Definitely check them out! Updated from previous review on 2023-12-08
Had come up on my fb page and I wanted to check it out for awhile now. Finally went in today and I was very impressed. Clean and bright coffee shop with nice ambiance. I enjoyed a soy latte and lemon poppyseed muffin while my friend had a coffee and butter tart. Everything was great. We will definitely be back. This is a hidden gem and well worth checking out.

Brand new vegan bakery in YEG with amazing treats!Tried the Jalapeño pull-a-part and it was the tastiest pastry I’ve ever had. Layers of perfectly crisp goodness with a little bit of spice.Had to also try their Salted Caramel tart - sooo good as a dessert too or treat anytime.Quite a good looking beverage menu too.

Ill be generous with 3 stars. I love the ambience and the coziness of the place, the fireplace and the overall feels is good. When I ordered the BLT croissant, I was expecting the staff would heat it, or at least ask me if I wanted it to be heated but no. The desserts we tried were so so, and my friend who ordered pastries was disappointed. There were other pastries i would love to try again.

This cute Cafe is tucked away behind 149St and Stony Plain rd. It has free parking, easy to walk and drive to. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, immediately letting me know that they have plenty of vegan options. I tried a couple desserts and a Latte and rooibos tea; all of which are amazing. Their coffee is genuinely the best I've ever had, and their space is very quiet and calming/relaxing. I really enjoy doing my schoolwork here and will continue to come back :)P.S. Plus, I love their pay-it-forward program!
Kid-friendliness: They have a small children's area with kids' toys and books to keep them occupied!

The ambiance is pretty nice but the pastries are very expensive and average at best. The muffin I had was 5 dollars and not good. It was dry and chewy and I thought it was gluten free but it was not.
