Arbitrarily closed their restaurant ahead of their posted closing time and refused to serve us when we showed up at their door. Very disappointing since we drove into town specifically to have sushi at this restaurant.

The food is good, portions are good for the price. Quality varies on the day. Used to come often but the last time I came in the evening, the owner was very rude to a delivery driver and was yelling at him that they had no orders and kicking him out despite the driver showing him his pick up order number. Off putting since it was 9pm and pretty sure it says they close at 10. Maybe reconsider this place if thinking of ordering later in the evening.

This is my favourite restaurant in Edmonton. The food is delicious, the staff - ALWAYS happy to see you. Just go and you’ll be happy!

The food is so fresh! The fish make excellent conversation before you eat them. They are full of so much wisdom, I feel like a grand wizard once I consume them. So good. Staff are very kind and friendly. The place gives fancy fish, with posters with a different fact about a different fish on the paper. If you touch them, they jump out!!! So cool. They even splash sparkling water on you through the posters. Will definitely come back!!

Kyoto Japanese Cuisine is a solid choice for Japanese food in a relaxed setting. The bento boxes are a standout option, offering good value with a variety of well-prepared items. The portions are generous, and the flavors are consistently fresh and satisfying.

The sushi and sashimi are also worth trying, with fresh fish and clean presentation. The tempura is light and crispy, and the miso soup is a nice, comforting addition to the meal. The service is friendly and efficient, making the dining experience pleasant and straightforward.

One practical tip: the parking lot is shared with other businesses, so don’t forget to register your license plate at the kiosk inside to avoid a ticket. It’s a small but important detail to keep in mind.

Overall, Kyoto Japanese Cuisine is a reliable spot for a good meal at reasonable prices. Whether you’re stopping by for lunch or dinner, it’s a dependable choice for Japanese cuisine in the area.
