Marcos Famous is a staple on campus. Everyone knows where it is, everyone has a favorite order and everyone knows what to expect when it comes to taste and quality. If you arrive during the lunch rush be prepared to wait for a bit but they have a system that works and will have your order up and ready in a couple minutes.

Food comes quite hot but tastes great nonetheless. Pissibly the best fries in the city and great customer service. The wait for food can take a while though.

Marcos Famous has been serving up consistently delicious food for the past 8.5 years, and I’m amazed at how they’ve maintained such high quality over time. Whether you’re a student looking for a quick bite or just craving some flavorful comfort food, this place never disappoints.

Their Chicken Donair is packed with juicy, well-seasoned meat and just the right amount of sauce. The Tombstone and Wildcat are absolute must-tries—both loaded with flavor and perfect for satisfying late-night cravings. If you're a poutine fan, their Chicken Poutine and Cheese Poutine are top-notch, with crispy fries, rich gravy, and perfectly melted cheese.

Beyond the great food, what really sets Marcos apart is the staff. They’re incredibly friendly, efficient, and always make you feel welcome. It’s rare to see a place with such low staff turnover, which speaks volumes about how well it’s run.

After so many years, Marcos Famous remains a staple at UAlberta. If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out!

Fries were cold in the middle? And many of them tasted like they'd gone bad...

I always buy at Marcos Famous University and they are consistently great. I have tried their donairs, chicken shawarma and their poutines I really like it so much especially their beef donairs, the meat is so juicy and they serve it with their famous sweet sauce. Every bite is a delicious experience. Highly recommended. Give it a try if you haven’t already!

Been stopping by here for about 2 years during my undergrad and this is my favourite place to eat at UofA.

The owner is very respectful and cares about customer satisfaction. The station they work on is very clean and I’ve never had one complaint about their food or the way they handle it.

I usually got the Marcos burger and the regular donair, both of which are about 11.00 dollars and are quite a generous portion of food. The food itself tastes above average which is why I’ve been eating from here on and off for a couple years. A friend of mine said the chicken plate was their favourite item from here.

Overall, a very fair price you pay for the quality of food you get.

I’m a student in the uni, and I discovered this place. The food was delicious, everything including spices, sauces, just one word perfect. Moreover, the staff is so friendly and so approachable I love those guys.

EDIT: It appears my first visit (where I ordered a jumbo donair with cheese) was indeed an accidentally made order. I went today for the free donair that I was offered by the owner here and it tasted totally traditional. I guess I did accidentally receive caesar dressing instead of sweet sauce as this donair was delicious, sweet, and had no specks of black in it like the caesar dressing does. I will definitely return. 10/10 service online here by the owner and 10/10 service in-store (very kind and quick to rectify this issue).

10/10 we all loved our meals, Donairs, poutine, burgers, onion rings… everything tasted great. Great service, quick to receive our food, good prices. Definitely enjoyed our meal.

We ordered a mushroom poutine and a donair platter. I asked to replace rice (too sticky for me) with something else, they suggested salad, which was ok with me. I confirmed again that I don't want rice. Instead, I got salad and a huge amount of rice, no fries. I didn't go back and complain because I didn't want that food to go to waste. Meat lacked either seasoning or crust, but was palatable, although there wasn't enough sauce in my opinion. Salad was good. Fries in poutine were good, but I could barely taste mushrooms behind the garlic. The size is ok but nothing crazy. In my opinion, a bit too expensive for what's on offer here.
