All the snacks are freshly made, we love the ullu vada and the menu is more authentic to kerela food which we liked. The shop could have had more space but the cost of food is cheaper compared to other restaurants. The dinning space could be improved a bit for a better appeal.

Masalaz staff patiently helped me choose items for my family’s New Year’s Eve gathering when I booked catering a few weeks in advance. Everything was ready on time and tasted delicious, even on such a busy day for everyone. The pricing was reasonable and saved us a lot of time cooking, allowing us to relax and enjoy the food together. I had previously tried their food at a larger catered event for my sister, and I would highly recommend Masalaz for both small and large events if you’re looking for authentic Kerala food and a great catering experience. Happy New Year!

My goodness can you respect peoples time? Last few times my orders always took over 40 mins and they say 20 25 mins.. today they said 40, i came late and still had to wait for over 30 mins.. overall they took over an hour for food ordered over the phone.. if you will take 2 hours to make it just say it so food can be picked up according..

The food is good though..

Ordered thattukada chicken fry and they sent us all burnt chicken! Was literally tasting bitter and really embarrassing infront of our guests.

I arrived around 7:45 PM after driving 30 minutes, only to be told that dining service had already stopped, even though the place is listed as open until 8:30 PM. The only item available was chicken biryani. This used to be one of my favorite go-to spots in Edmonton, but this experience was really disappointing. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and ensures more accurate service hours in the future.

We came here on the 5th of July and as soon as the food arrived on the table, we immediately regretted coming here. I ordered Malabar chicken curry and it tasted like masala water with some chicken pieces. Porotta and appam were served cold. There was absolutely no taste to the food. I couldn't even finish my plate due to how tasteless it was. We spent around $70 here and it was such a waste of money. I won't recommend this place to anyone as it's not worth the price you spend here. There is no taste or authenticity to the food here.

Extremely Disappointing Experience

We had high hopes for this place, but it completely ruined my nephew's birthday celebration. The appam was made with non-fermented batter, which gave it a strange texture and no authentic taste. The so-called chicken cutlet had barely any chicken—just loaded with potatoes. We spent over $600 on food that was honestly not even close to decent.

This kind of quality and deception is unacceptable, especially when catering for important events. Masaalas, please grow up and stop cheating customers with subpar, overpriced food. You really let us down.

I ordered food for my son’s birthday for 25 people, the food was miserable. Appam was so hard, didn’t fermented properly. Chicken cutlet was awful basically there was no chicken only potatoes in the cutlet. Charge terribly . Spend almost $600 for this nasty food. Ruined my son’s birthday dinner. Very pathetic.
