Very nice experience!! People were nice, clean atmosphere and very tasty food. Be careful though folks ask for not spicy hot unless you can handle extremely hot food. I requested both and they were delicious. Just remember that if you ask for spicy hot they will give it to you. Just Saying ..

I ate here twice today as I was in the area. The service was excellent and I dress like semi hood in track suits and Jordan's. I felt respected and not judged. It was an awesome experience

Good place
The atmosphere here is warm and cozy. You can sit on the sofa or the chairs. It is very clean and they manage to control their interaction with unruly customers.
The food is very tasty. I ordered Shiro, a vegetarian dish served with injera. It came with a good helping of fresh and green lettuce.
The service was great. They show a lot of respect and tolerance when dealing with their customers.

Massawa Restaurant gave me a great experience. The food was fresh and tasted like home, especially the breakfast. The place felt welcoming, and the waiter was really friendly and respectful. I’d recommend it for anyone who wants good Eritrean food and kind service.

Some of the most atrociously rude, unwelcoming and neglectful human interaction I’ve ever encountered— let alone in a customer service industry. (I’ve been a few times to eat and let the neglect slide due to being relaxed and no where to be, but I recently entered the restaurant to use their facilities first and was met with the most cruel response and turning away. They would not Let me be a customer in order to use their facilities because “customers only”, yet they’re not allowing me to purchase anything today.. They were open and had tables available and customers inside. But nope not for me, because I wanted to relieve myself first. I understand it’s a rough neighbourhood, but I’ve been here before and am saying I want to pay…. made no sense to be so inhuman about the order of things. Save your money. (their food was just Okay, the number of times I ate here. Didn’t make up for the lack of kindness or attentiveness).

Neat restaurant with beautiful biniam girmay tribute. Ordered foule and firfir it was 10/10. Breakfasts hit the spot and tasted just like it you ordered in Massawa, Keren, Addis etc.

I stopped by Massawa Cafe in Edmonton recently as I wanted some Ethiopian food. The restaurant had an interesting decor. In terms of food, I tried their Tibsi Red (keyh). The beef was tender with a nice flavour but not really spicy, and the highlight was definitely the injera. There was quite a bit of food as well so I’d give it 8/10
