I've honestly debated leaving this review about 50 times because it feels unfair since I've never really had any big issues and I'm worried it'll reflect badly on the wrong people, but I guess I'm hoping that the powers that be see it and something changes for the employees there.
The pros: the team here is FANTASTIC!!! It's a very small team, I think only 5 or 6 people, but they're all absolutely lovely. I cannot possibly say enough good things about the employees at this restaurant. And the food is incredible. Everything I've tried has been at least an 8/10, many things higher. Portions are HUGE!!! Each half of the grilled cheese is the size of a normal sandwich, and their poutines are MASSIVE, definitely a meal all on their own and not a side dish
The cons: there's only ever one person working at a time. I think they maybe sometimes have 2 people on the weekends but aside from that there's only one person working at a time. Food is slow to come out of the kitchen because of it, and it honestly feels bad walking in and seeing them busy with 7 other things and then adding something on by ordering.
I had thought it was an issue of an absent manager that doesn't know what they're doing or something, but I've met the manager, she's one of the 5ish employees that's there alone every day, and she's wonderful. Obviously I can't speak to her business acumen, but she's incredibly friendly and knows literally everything about the menu and company (and makes incredible recommendations. BBQ sauce with mac and cheese bites... YUM!!!!!) and based on how swamped I've seen her at times I'd be really surprised to learn that it's her choice to only have one employee working at a time when they CLEARLY need two.
It feels bad to say it but if you can't afford to pay enough people to run the restaurant properly you should probably just close the restaurant. I get there are times when it's not busy but I've seriously been in here and there's one person trying to do prep, clean, take orders, make food, make drinks, deal with their doordash tablets, and pack orders, and they're all alone with like 5 or 6 people waiting. And, to their credit, they always do it with a smile on their face and never take any frustrations out on the customers, but I can't imagine wanting to work in an environment like that. It feels borderline abusive to the employees.
Again, I can't say enough good stuff about the employees, they're all incredible, but it seems like maybe the owner is placing ridiculous restrictions on how many hours people are allowed to work or something like that and I don't know if I can continue to support a place like that. Especially when you know the owner is doing it to pad their own pockets since they only have to pay one person at a time. And while I HAVE seen the manager working there alone many times, based on the fact that it's all people in their 20s I feel pretty safe guessing that the owner isn't one of the people working there alone all day every day. Seems like they're willing to risk the health and safety of their employees by making them work alone in order to make more money for themself, and I'm not ok with that. And again, if the restaurant is making so little money that they can only afford to pay one person, the owner should either work there themself or close because the business is clearly not successful enough to support a team of employees.
(And if any of the employees/manager are reading this you're doing a great job and I'm sorry your work environment seems so stressful, I genuinely hope the owner changes something for you guys to make it better there <3)

Individual at till was extremely agitated, and annoyed, projecting this agitation towards my children and myself. I politely asked the individual if there was an issue, after that the individual stormed off into the back, cleared our order from the till, and sent out another employee.
We left, did not order food as I do not trust food cooked by angry fast food workers.

Very expensive for the food received. Cheesesteak served on a small burger bun, not the hoagie bun usually used for cheesesteaks. Mushrooms and onions were burnt. Lots of cheese though.Half filled bag of fries and very thin milkshake. Shake is very small for the $7 price. The only part which kept this from a lower score was the service.

Man making my food had long brown hair with no hairnet on, food tastes great but staff needs hairnets you are going to get someone sick
Edit: after coming back to read reviews, and seeing that there are even more issues with hair in the food, aswell that the same man that I made this review about, is still being dangerous with food, I have changed my review from 3 to a Zero, unfortunately.

Went in to grab dinner and there was only one employee who was expected to be doing the cooking, cleaning and customers, an unreasonable expectation for dinner time. We waited for 10 minutes before we gave up and went to Firehouse Subs next door and had our order taken and food served in much less than 10 minutes. Online ordering was also turned off so we couldn’t even order ahead to avoid this long wait. Overall left very disappointed.
Philly Cheesesteak was burnt, painfully long wait, overpriced. Last time I came here before today was a year ago, place fell of a cliff.

But 5 SEPARATE STRANDS OF HAIR IN IT.
They also use generative AI in their ads, which is a great way to show off how lazy you are and how little you care about your business.
