If you grew up eating Chinese food back in the 80's/90's you will love this place. Generous portions and a great price.

The food was awesome. We had the lemon chicken vermicelli bowl. It was so flavourful. Will go back again. I can see that I'm going crave that dish once in a while.

Very small portions, food was just alright. Deep fried shrimp seemed very old.Would not recommend.

We were looking for an old style Chinese Restaurant....something that wasn't a buffet and where the food was good and reasonably priced. We stumbled upon The Midnight Sun on 124 Street and decided to give it a try. It's an old building...and not the 'freshest' or cleanest looking place, but it was okay. Thought the prices were a bit high....but I realize how inflation has affected the restaurant industry. We ordered a Chicken stir fry with black bean sauce and some rice, some Gai-Lan (Chinese Broccoli) with oyster sauce, and a small bowl of Hot 'n Sour soup. The person serving us (who I assume is one of the owners) was pleasant. The food was disappointing. The oyster sauce was really thin, the gai-lan wasn't particularly hot (although it was tasty---not bitter like it sometimes can be), the hot and sour soup was really thick with corn starch (although the flavours were good and the ingredients fresh), and, most disappointingly---the black bean sauce was way too sweet for a black bean sauce. But all the vegetables were crisp....nothing over-cooked. And when we got our bill....the prices were significantly higher than what it said on the menu. The server explained that she couldn't keep updating the menu as costs rose. But could she not have told us the prices....updated them personally? Not impressed.

The best thing about this restaurant was the message in the fortune cookie. The food was lack Lustre and I regret the $50 I spent. I hate to write a negative review but I don't want others to waste money.

Meal for one was shared with two others. A lot of food, very freshly made. Would definitely recommend. The take out container barely closed!

Parking: My large vehicle fit well with more spots available. You could park on side street too with no difficulties. Disabled spot also available out front, I think.

Wheelchair accessibility: I think there was a spot out front of shop. It was a while ago.
