Tonkatsu (등심) tastes really good. Portion is large and cabbage salad is delicious and fresh too. Bibimbap (비빔밥) also tastes good. Staff and dining environment is nice.

I had the Curry Tonkatsu and Takoyaki. Top tier place for Tonkatsu. This restaurant deserves more love compared to a lot of newer restaurants that just buys fake reviews nowadays.

Dated my friends for a Friday lunch at Miga. Very spacious restaurant with high ceiling. A very good place to have good food and chit chat with friends. We ordered a rosu katsu, a hire katsu and a cheese katsu. Each meal comes with a miso soup, an appetiser which was some preserved cabbage, some cabbage as veggies, the cutlet and rice. There was also a little bowl of sesame for us to grind and add the sauce for dipping. The three of us decided to share the meals so we each had some of the different katsu. My personal favourite was the hire katsu which was the pork tenderloin cutlet. It was very crispy in the outside and soft in the inside. Was definitely a wonderful meal and I plan to visit again with my family.

Google ReviewMigaWhen people mention Korean food, they usually think of Korean BBQ or fried chicken.Miga is wonderfully neither of those things. Instead, this Korean restaurant is dedicated to the Japanese dishes of Tonkatsu and Udon.Tonkatsu is panko breaded cutlet of meat, usually pork, chicken or even beef. Here you find the BEST katsu in Edmonton. This place is truly a hidden gem. While here, definitely try their different tonkatsu sets; these are the pork cutlets. Rosu katsu (pork tenderloin) seems slightly fattier than Hire Katsu (pork loin) but if you’re not sure, they have a set that has both kinds. The dish is served with rice, miso soup, some pickled veggies and some fresh sesame for grinding to mix with the tonkastsu sauce. If you want something of softer texture, give the chicken katsu a try. For all the katsu dishes, the batter is very light and fluffy and not overly deep fried. The portions are quite filling as well.Coming here is a treat. The prices can be considered premium and you definitely get quality food. Having been here a couple of times, I would highly recommend it to anybody wanting to have Tonkatsu.

Saturday evening was quiet with only 2 other tables. Was closing at 9pm but they kindly seated us at 8:55 and we didn’t feel rushed at all. Hands down the best place in Edmonton for tonkatsu! Unlimited cabbage salad and soup, grind your own sesame seeds for your dipping sauce. The closest Edmonton has to Saku tonkatsu in Vancouver! Will be going back for sure!

Good food for the price. I have never had Katsu in Edmonton so I was excited to try it here. I don’t think it was too dry or overcooked but I was hoping for something even better. We tried the mixed katsu so it was a bit of everything. The sesame dipping sauce was great! However the katsu were crispy but not as juicy as I would love them to be. I wonder if the curry katsu would be the best. Th bibimbap was not great and we suspect they forgot to put salt in it? The udon was surprisingly good among all three dishes we ordered. But I personally am not a huge fan for udon so I cannot comment much. However overall it is a great place for quick lunch or dinner during workdays for wholesome meal. We visited Saturday night and there were only one other table of guests.

Tried their Katsu Mix and it was overall good. A good set to try a number of items. Some of my pork was dry (maybe a bit overcooked). The cheese katsu was notable and the side salads were a necessity to counter the fried foods. $26 was reasonable given the portion size. I would happily return to try other dishes!
