Always liked this place, it’s my go to because it’s consistently decent.

We ordered staff lunch from Mikado and everyone enjoyed all the items. The hot food platter was especially a hit. Tomoko was extremely helpful and ensured diet restrictions were taken care of. I was especially appreciative that she was able to accommodate our early lunch time. Thank you so much!

really delicious, a bit pricy for my personal liking but there's so many options and the smoked salmon nigiri specifically was so so perfect!

One of the best Japanese restaurants in edmonton. Never had issues here.

Excellent lunch at the downtown Mikado open for 27 years at this location and the first Japanese restaurant in Alberta since 1972 so how can one go wrong if you enjoy Japanese food. Our server Eddie recommended Bento Box for lunch so a deluxe and ordinary was ordered. Deluxe has salmon which was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch including saki.
Parking is easy and next to Best Buys and Harvey's so easy to find.

Mediocre food and slow service. Expensive and lacking flavour. Compared to other sushi restaurants, NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY. Great atmosphere tho.

This was the closest I’ve felt to being back in Japan since visiting nearly ten years ago.
It was my first time dining here, and even the miso soup—a simple dish—was bursting with flavor, easily the best I’ve ever had. Every dish was prepared and presented with such care, you could truly feel the passion of the staff in every detail. That sense of intention and authenticity brought back memories of Japan for me ❤️ The space itself is cozy and inviting, with a calm, relaxing vibe. I can’t wait to return.

Had a great time experience at Mikado, the service was amazing, and the restaurant has a really cozy atmosphere, the salmon sashimi smelled a little bit fishy for my taste so that’s the only thing I didn’t enjoy as much, but I will probably be back for the sushi and the tempura!

This was the most authentic Japanese experience I've had since actually traveling to Japan nearly a decade ago.
It was my first time trying this place, and even something as simple as the miso soup was so flavourful and delicious, the best I've ever had! The craftsmanship and presentation of all of the food, you can see the heart the staff puts into everything. That more than anything made me feel like I was actually back in Japan ❤️ The restaurant interior feels cozy without being too small, and the atmosphere is nice and relaxing. I'm looking forward to my next visit!

Always a good time. I really enjoyed their sushi combos and their ebi sunomono is one of the best in town.
