Mikado Westside Reviews
Terrible service from our server. We had a larger party of 8 so we had an automatic 18% gratuity added to our bill and I can only assume because the server was aware of this fact, we barely saw him. He never came once to check on us after our food came and finally I had to go to the front to ask him to come to our table as we were still hungry.
I've been a Mikado customer and enthusiast since the owner (David) was a sushi chef at the original location back in the early 1980s. The fact that I (now 'we') continue to be clients of this fine establishment for over four decades pretty much illustrates how highly we regard this group of restaurants. 5.5 stars out of 5!!!
Went into the restaurant you are not allowed to preorder or order take out and then sit at a table to eat it.
The manager was rude to us about it we explained we have always pre ordered as we have to be back to work at a certain time and it never works if we come in to order we then have to take it to go because it takes to long.
Manager did not care we eat there at least once a month will not be going there again!

Mikado Westside offers delicious dishes like the Salmon feature roll and tuna sashimi. The restaurant has a cute aesthetic with a cozy, inviting atmosphere, making it a great spot for casual dinners or nights out. Many customers appreciate the good quality of the fish, which still seems decently fresh, and the rice that is seasoned well. The food impresses those who enjoy good sushi and fresh fish. The bento boxes are praised for their generous portions and great price for lunch. Service is often described as friendly and attentive, creating a warm and clean environment. Customers note that it is one of the better Japanese restaurants in Edmonton, especially considering the difficulty of finding real crab meat and authentic seafood in the area. Some wish the restaurant allowed substitutions for shellfish allergies without extra charges. Although some items are sometimes sold out, the food continues to impress. The restaurant also serves dishes like grilled shrimp and steamed mussels, with food often delivered quickly. Overall, Mikado Westside remains a popular spot for good food, even if some items can be unpredictable with UberEats orders.
