Summary: Truly disappointing to sushi lovers. I have tried a ton of sushi all over Canada and this place should be ashamed of the sushi rolls they are making.
- Rice is clearly not balanced enough and very chewy/hard on all rolls.
- Why is your spicy tuna roll so salty and flavourless?
- Sashimi not actually bad, but paper thin
This rice issue is core sushi, if you can’t get this right you shouldn’t be in business and somehow have 3 stores under your belt pushing this terrible product.
I’ve never been so sad eating at a sushi restaurant. How do I even say to do better if you can’t do rice properly…

Ordered some rolls and the tuna tataki, received a sad premade tataki that has been sitting refrigerated for hours. Don’t order pick up they won’t make it fresh.

Found a hair in my meal. Absolutely disgusting. Sure it happens but the server did the absolute minimum with an empty apology. Asked if I wanted just that portion of my Bento replaced (gross) or a brand new Bento. Of course I want a brand new one. Proceeded to wait 20 min for my new Bento. The rest of my family had finished eating by the time I got it. I expected at least some sort of compensation but still tagged with the full price of the meal and no offer of anything else. Servers name was Seirra ( or something like that, she never introduced herself I just caught a glimpse of her name tag).

I have been dining with Mikado West for many years and today was a very poor experience with their staff. I ordered 7 rolls for a child’s birthday party and requested 10 sets of disposable chopsticks. I was told that the request for these disposable chopsticks would not be possible and I was asking for too much. Upon pick up they wanted to only give me 3 sets of chopsticks, and very reluctantly gave me 7 more for the child’s birthday party. This made me feel as if I was no longer a valued customer.. So I have news for you. I guess I’ve probably been spending too much at your business over the years.
There is lots of establishments where you can have a better experience and better quality food. I suggest you try them.

My two friends had a birthday gathering for Sunday brunch. I knew I will be late, therefore had gotten two flower bouquets and drop it off the night before, leaving instructions for the team. I was happy that they set it on the table before everyone arrived, which made the brunch get together such a surprise. The food was amazing and service was attentive even in the private rooms. Mikado is always our all time favorite and never disappoints. Thank you to the team working on Sunday, making my friends feel so special on their birthday.
