Another fantastic new spot in town! While Olia (by Daniel Costa) is a wonderful addition, there’s really no need to reserve or wait when Mimi is right next door. This adjacent gem has a more laid-back vibe, cozier atmosphere, and smaller bites—crafted with the same expert touch from the shared kitchen.
Tonight, we snacked while Rear Window by Hitchcock played on the big screen. And on certain nights, you might even catch a DJ spinning some cool tunes.
Service at The Wood tends to be a bit slower, but our server tonight, Kate, was absolutely on point! Thank you, Kate. She mentioned it was only her second shift, but regardless of where she worked before, her attentiveness has already made this place better.
Saturdays definitely have a different vibe—especially on an Oilers game night—compared to the Friday happy hour crowd. But wow, this place is buzzing!

A nice, clean pub with great staff. I particularly enjoyed that the music was at a volume where one could hold a conversation without raising voices.
I had the kids pizza and that was enough for me!
I will definitely make another stop and try more of the menu.

My wife and I stopped for dinner at this family-owned pub on a Sunday night. Decor is clean and modern, with huge windows and a gorgeous wood-fired pizza oven like you might see in Italy. The menu is small, but there are some great options. We'd heard good things about the pizza, so tried that, as well as the lamb burger with fries. Both were delicious. I'd say the lamb burger was a bit smaller than a standard pub beef burger, but I didn't mind at all, as the flavours of the lamb and garlicky sauce were amazing, and the fries were actually exceptional. Don't sub in a salad — try these fries! They were stiff and crispy with a soft inside, and a perfect oil to potato ratio. We had a couple of craft beers as well, which were good, as expected.
While I don't think restaurants should have huge menus, I would have liked a few more options, like a caesar salad and maybe a chicken burger. Prices were fair — maybe $1-2 more than a Boston Pizza, and cheaper than a Famoso. Pizza is a good value, as it's big, and one person would probably have leftovers. We'll be back! Support your local family restaurant ☺️!

All I can say is this place is awesome. The food is so utterly authentic and the pizza top notch…I honestly felt like I was back in Italy the pizza is so tasty.
The atmosphere is, however, what sets it apart. They treat you like family there…it’s more than a restaurant or pub…it feels like a community. Love this place…!! You won’t be disappointed a true gem of a place.

This is a great one-of-a-kind neighborhood pub. The staff are wonderful, and they quickly make you feel at home. I also like that they have no VLTs. Karaoke is great, the live music is fun, and the trivia is a hoot!!

Has gone amazingly downhill since they opened with most food obviously made from frozen. Portions disappointing, and owner very rude plus dismissive. Long serving times.
Love this place! We have been singing for 20 years and this place is my favorite . Great host and great food! The atmosphere is very cozy .

Cozy, friendly and a WONDERFUL Friday night karaoke crowd! My fave place in YEG so far. If I didn't live so far away I'd be here all of the time! 😊
A really nice modern pub that we had never heard about. Tucked away over on 40th Ave by No Frills. The food was fantastic, the lamb burger is to die for! Atmosphere was lovely. Extremely friendly staff. Definitely a must go again eatery 👍🏻

I love pizza, and has no idea about the awesome pizzas they have at Mimi's. Absolutely delicious crust, great ratio of toppings and a perfect bake. I will absolutely be back for more pizza.
