The chef in the restaurant doesn't know how to do customer service, I asked him very politely a simple question about waiting time, but he started shouting at me. He was too rude.

No breakfast menu, seems like a buffet style very expensive. Very dark and grudgy looking aged in other words.

Wanted to try authentic African food, so it was my first time trying the following dishes.

Today, I tried the Jolof rice and the Fufu with soup. The Fufu comes with a stew and a starchy, doughy, casava/plaintain dough, while the soup has a pretty pungent smell and strong shrimp powder taste.

Jolof rice is a long grain rice that is cooked down with tomatoe concentrate that's mixed with many herbs and spices, and in my rice, beef was also included.

Fufu was too different for my palette, but I enjoyed the Jolof rice a lot! Cooks and owner were also very kind to me.

Chef Solo is an outstanding cook. I've eaten Senegalese food at other restaurants, including at two places in New York, and nobody yet has topped his culinary excellence. I've been going to his restaurant since 2010 (IIRC), continued getting takeout from him throughout the pandemic, and am delighted to eat at his place now.

Asked for extra food for my bf, as we only had money for one meal, and they cratered to our needs without any extra fees. Definitely will be coming back! P.s delicious fries & ketchup!

Tried the lunch buffet but the menu was quite limited and not fresh. The rice was great but otherwise everything else seemed to be stale or old. For $20 it is not worth it. Maybe ordering food from the menu would be better. The service was great though but the restaurant was cold.
