We just ordered from Mumbai Dakar for the first time and the food tasted amazing! The service was great and I would highly recommend for anyone wanting to try African food since they have great options available and a reasonably priced buffet!Thank you Chef Solo!
Tried the lunch buffet but the menu was quite limited and not fresh. The rice was great but otherwise everything else seemed to be stale or old. For $20 it is not worth it. Maybe ordering food from the menu would be better. The service was great though but the restaurant was cold.

I've never eaten here, so this review is not about the food. It's about that abhorrent nature in which Solo treats his staff. Primarily not paying them and refusing to give an ROE, which I believe is against the law. I will never support an establishment that abuses its staff

Interior and exterior of this establishment is looking rough but the food was very good. There was a two sided menu, with African dishes on one side and Indian fare on the other. We had butter chicken, chicken tikka masala and coconut rice. Flavors were outstanding. I will return to try the African side next time.

This is one of my all-time favourite restaurants. Edmonton doesn't have a large Senegalese community, and Mumbai Dakar is only the second Senegalese restaurant we've ever had. I've eaten Senegalese food in two great Harlem restaurants (Harlem being home to countless people from across the African continent), and Mumbai Dakar can go toe-to-toe with the best of their fare. Chef Solo produces superb dishes from a cuisine that will be a great discovery for most E-Towners. I especially recommend the tangy Chicken Yassa, the delicious peanutty Beef Maffeh, and the classic Senegalese Thieboudienne (a fish dish). Chef Solo also cooks superb Indian food--try the curry beef or the vindaloo goat. So much to order and eat here. Come experience it today!
