Almost a hidden Gem!!
So glad I came here...
New Taste of India Sweets & Restaurant totally hit the spot! I ordered the butter chicken
(SO good—rich, flavorful, and not shy on spice),
pakori (crispy, light, and perfect for dipping),
and they even gave me a free traditional dessert to try—bright yellow, sweet, and fun. I still don’t know what it was called, but it felt like edible sunshine. 🌞
The staff were super friendly, generous, and made the experience feel like a home-cooked meal. It’s tucked into a humble little strip mall, but the food and kindness are five-star all the way. Highly recommend if you're craving real Indian comfort food and a sugar hug at the end!
I went to dine in and ordered a goat biryani, I ate 30% of it then I found 3-4 hair in it and sent it back, they offered me another one. I asked them to make it to go without arguing but all they gave was biryani with bones and fat. Very disappointed, never visiting that place again, the floor was dirty and not a good place to dine-in.
Excellent food
Awesome food
I was randomly in Edmonton for one night and I thought I’d try this Indian spot
By God was an impressed. I ordered the puri chole and aloo mattar - Vegetarian dishes.
They tasted better than the best meat dishes I’ve ever had in Calgary at an Indian restaurant.
And I was asked what I wanted for my spice level and I told them not to hold back and they did not hold back lol it was so spicy but extremely tasty exactly what I asked for.
I think they even gave me extra naan bread.
And I got a free sweet to try a chocolate barfi
I paid less than $30 for food that could’ve fed a family of six!!!!
When an Indian restaurant can make a vegetarian dish, taste better Than a meat dish then you know you are in good hands!!
Can’t wait to come back to Edmonton and try the rest of their menu!!
And the service was amazing!! And the quality of the food Was beyond fresh!!!!
I was very impressed!! That rarely happens!!

This was my 3rd time getting sweets from here. 1st time was during last diwali, the sweets were fresh then but for the last two takeouts I can definitely say the sweets were stale not recommended for sweets rest I cant say.
This location has heavy traffic, so when I saw their sign and "lunch combo" I had to fight heavy crossings only to get there and the girl at the front charging 7 dollars more, saying "no we don't have lunch combo" then I pointed the sign, "oh that sign is old, we can't do that".
At this point I cancelled the order and walk out because it's not honest have a street sign with a price and don't honor it.

Ordered through skip. Food was too salty. $4 tea was in a small cup. Second time I’ve had a bad experience with them. I can guarantee there are way better restaurants than this. 3/10.
