I had the spicy ginger beef and it was the best I've ever had anywhere. I've been to Beijing and many Chinese restaurants. Also had the chicken fried rice and it was solid but unspectacular. I picked up and service was good. Will definitely be back to try other dishes. Not cheap but I'm fine paying for quality.

A Chinese friend once told me this is the best Chinese food in the world. I can’t say I’ve tried Chinese food everywhere, but I’m certain this is the best in Canada. Don’t miss out on this amazing experience! My favorite is the sliced beef in hot sauce, but honestly, everything on the menu looks delicious. The food usually takes around 30 minutes to prepare, but trust me—it’s absolutely worth the wait.

The Whyte Ave. location has THE best ginger beef in Edmonton. Clearly #1. I had takeout Aug. 7, 2025 and LOVED my ginger beef with the side of rice - DELICIOUS!! Outstanding!!!!
Been going since they were at their first location. Consistently excellent, great if you love spicy food.

Atmosphere is cinematic. Old world charm. The hostess is charming. The spicy fish is scrumptious as is everything else I have tried.

I don't think the food are exactly the same on the menu. All of these are very pricy.

Won Ton soup was good but absolutely no vegetables at all in soup. Green bean dish was good but extremely disappointed with the Short Ribs w/Black Pepper Sauce. NO SAUCE on ribs, only black pepper sprinkled. Which meant we were eating dry rice with dry ribs and green beans. Had to request soy sauce which they had to retrieve from the kitchen! When we pointed out why does the menu say sauce when it comes without, she said you ask me. Really?!? Won’t be coming back.

This restaurant relocated from Chinatown to White Ave around 10 years ago, making it a long-standing establishment with a mix of good and not-so-good secret recipes. I've visited both locations, and while some dishes on the menu are excellent, others are just okay or even a bit disappointing. To fully appreciate their offerings, you need to enjoy authentic Szechuan flavors, which may not be for everyone. Personally, I had a pleasant experience, and the lady owner was friendly and welcoming.
However, their prices are higher compared to other similar Chinese restaurants, and the portions are smaller, which makes it feel overpriced. For what I paid, I expected better quality and larger portions, which is why I’m giving them a 4-star rating. Another drawback was the slow service—we waited a long time for our dishes, despite being the only customers in the restaurant from 4:40 p.m. to 6:20 p.m.
